Bayern v City post match thread

I'm just so proud of our boys tonight. So easy it would have been to get blown apart when at 0-2 in that environment.

Twat-ler and Niall Quisling were just tittering like little girls at that time and so itching to spend the next 75 minutes slagging us.

And who the hell cares about the 2 goals v 3 goals, whatever? That's a loser's mentality. We should WANT to go take it right to Barca or PSG or the Madrilenos. Some really good poster here pointed out once that you get the first match at home if you finish 2nd in the group and maybe that's a better slot for us to be in anyway.

We want to WIN THIS THING. Not eke our way past some minnow and hope some of the big, scary clubs knock each other off. WE are a big, scary club! I never thought in my lifetime I'd see that day! Thanks Pellers! Last year we set a record for fewest points by an English side in the group stage, FFS.

So proud of the club, and of everyone who didn't give up!

I. LOVE. MY. CLUB. Fuck all you pessimistic *****, cleavers? I'm pissed now!
Good for you. :) and why not after that ?
especially when I'd city to win 11/2 £50, Silva to score 6/1 £50 (which I tipped on the general forum) and I support the best reserves in the world!
"this is how it feels to be city, this is how it feels to be small, you signed Ashley young, we signed NEGREDO, you signed Phil Jones we signed KUN AGUERO, you lost to Newcastle, we beat BAYERN MUNICH, we're gonna win the league, you.might just stay in it!" :)))) will bow off gracefully now!

Never thought a team would actually outplay Bayern at the Allianz. If Chelsea fans say they did it first call them on their BS! You dont out play an opponent by sitting back and soaking up pressure for 120 minutes!

Just for curiousity which of our players stood out for you?

I thought Silva, Navas, Dzeko, Fernahndihno and Milner were the main threats today

A night to absolutely savour, if we had hung on v Madrid last year it wouldnt have been such a big as an accomplishment as this. The fact that we have beaten Munch in their own backyard without our best players means the tougher teams we will draw will be shitting bricks. i saw millions of retweets on twitter that Ancellotti has said we are the team to fear.

Fucking hell. Our Manchester City. Not only feared in England but over Europe.

We are getting there, and it won't be long till we arrive. :)
Your not wrong Pope . This is a night a savour . Bravo Manchester City Football club .

Thanks for the compliment. We certainly did not expect it as well :)
Typical City

Just watched the highlights and that first goal was possibly offside but the second goal of theirs definitely was. That's twice we've been robbed at the Allianz in the CL.
We did win tonight, I'll take that given the circumstances at 7:58 tonight.

Any blue that isn't buzzing over what we did tonight, needs to re-assess why they are blues, not many games rank up there, the win at Spurs from 3-0 down was magnificent, but this was the european champions on their own patch in the top competition in world football.

Only the QPR comeback tops this in my supporting of City comebacks.

This is what I can`t get my around !! If we had scored another goal (according to this final league table) how the hell would we have gone through as group winners,as they would be 1 goal worse off and us ONLY one goal better off :

Played Goal Difference Points
View full table
1 Bayern Munich 6 12 15
2 Man City 6 8 15
3 Viktoria Plzen 6 -11 3
4 CSKA Moscow 6 -9 3

Some fucker clear this up for me please !!!!!!

Not based on goal difference but head to head when two teams are on level points

1-3 and 4-2 = 5-5 overall (we go top because we have more away goals I believe)

Look, once and for all....

He said that Silva could only play 70 minutes, 4 goals, 5 goals or 10 goals our playmaker was coming off after 70 mins.
It didn't matter whether or not he brought Aguero on, we were unlikely to score after the player who was pulling the attacking strings went off. So Pellers decided to save Aguero for the Arsenal game as he already had Negredo on.

and it was a shame he only had 70 mins in the tank as he showed every aspect of his game tonight.

if he starts scoring regularly he will shoot up those world rankings.

-- Wed Dec 11, 2013 12:36 am --

couldn't leave it! should have been 3-0 buddy, unbeatable no more! we shall Shirley meet again this year look forward to making your acquaintance again when we do!

Unbelievable that some people are talking about not going for a 4th goal at Bayern Munich - probably the best club side in the world !
We have just beaten the reigning European champions with a second string side after being 2 goals down in12 mins !I
I cannot understand some people.

But both ITV and BBC Sports show the same league positions,so why all the fuss,if the above one is correct.I`m not saying it is or it isn`t,just why these tables are showing us +8 and Munich +12.Why not show the head to head then if thats the case and show we only had a GD of only one ??
Something ain`t right. Are we certain it only comes down to head to head when the points and GD are equal ???
Fuck knows but something is wrong somewhere mate.

Their goals were offside but they were very marginal - it's hard to get angry tonight. Might have even worked in our favour because Bayern switched off thinking it was job done.

ITV, Sky etc may not give this result the recognition it deserves, but the most important people it affects are the players and supporters of Manchester City. Belief matter so much. You need to be able to step out on that pitch and know you can win. Last season, and maybe even this, we conceded a lot of very soft goals and I think that was in part down to doubt. "Are we good enough? Do we belong?" No one will ask questions like that again.

Pellegrini has to bring the players back down to Earth straight away though.

because GD is easier to display in a league table than head to head, I admit it looks silly when head to head is used but it's the standardised format of displaying league tables in football, nothing more, nothing less.

No; head to head is the first thing they take into account when sides finish level in the CL.
