GHT, are you joking, mate?!

No J I'm not. He was originally signed as a midfielder by Hughes and still plays there occasionally for Belgium... not saying its his best position, by any means, but I've no doubt Roberto would prefer Nigel to be in the team,- thus allowing him to be to be more cautious & play one up front with and two defensive midfielders (as is his wont).

Just don't think we can afford to go there and be too open ....only saying, that, if Mancini adopts the tactics I expect, this might be the best way to do it if Nigel can't play.

Maybe he was referring to having Balotelli on the bench?

Who plays left back tonight then?

After hearing that Robben is fit then left back will be a big problem.

Clichy is the obvious one for his pace but with Robben cutting inside every time i wonder if he's looking at playing a right footed player at left back to deal with him?

Maybe Richards who is quick enough and strong enough to deal with him

One thing for sure is i don't fancy Robben running at Kolarov all game

Bayern has the likes of Robben, Ribery, Lahm, and Rafinha to run our fullbacks around all night, so Clichy + Richards is a must in this game!

My son and I were discussing the very same thing earlier.
I see your point but the other issue is that Ribery can play either side as well. I'd be inclined to leave it as it on Saturday and definitely NOT play Kolarov. He'd be taken to the cleaners.
Clichy is experienced enough to handle Robben IMO.

Robben won't play until the second half, he is fit but not fully match fit for 90 minutes.

How about Tevez instead of Nasri ?
He can keep the ball like Nasri, create chances and also defend better.

I'd definitely go for this.

Tevez has a great workrate and is better defender than Nasri for one.

Additionally - that might confuse the shit out of Bayern (three strikers in starting 11).

And then during the game make Dzeko, Aguero, and Tevez constantly switch positions...

Ah one can keep dreaming.
