BBC: lorry deliberately ploughs in to german christmas market

That would make zero sense if he comes up with an alibi and they have to explain how they found his ID. (Which they'd have obviously made up)
They can arrest him for what he's currently wanted for, see if he knows anything. Doubt the press could get access to him so it wouldn't be an issue in denying accountability for the info the press got, depending on how they got it (as I included in an edit). Course they'd still have the later pressure of having to come up with a lead but it would get the press of their back. Just theorising an option they could have taken since it is undoubtedly a cock up with the Pakistani bloke and odd the info about the papers came out after that.

1. why is it a cock up with the first man of Pakistani origin? Honest transparent mistake seems more the case
2. what is the Tunisian suspect wanted for and where did you read that is wanted for something already? I am not aware of him being am existing suspect for anything. He has previously been investigated, but he is not suspect for anything outstanding unless you can show me otherwise

You ever heard of Occams Razor?

trouble is they dont have the surveillance laws we have here in the UK, they coulnt even show the whole of the suspects face on the German news, i think where they have gone wrong is just opening the door and letting all in even the ones with form, what they need to do now is round up the ones with any sort of form even if its just theiving and deport them

Sky News were saying he's wanted for assault or something similar.

Well to be fair the way the media reported it as if all eggs were in the basket when he was in custody and I think it was 24 hours later or so when they realised the perpetrator had escaped their clutches. I wasn't being serious with the suggestion, just it was an option I'm sure some would take.
