BBC pay reveal

Actually one person deffinately stealing a living on that list is dan walker, utter wank presenter and the cheely twat has defended getting paid more for sitting on the breakfast couch that the female presenters because he does football focus, Fuck off he gets paid to do a journolistic job on the beeb all year round not per show.

That's like saying I run the kitchen, but in that working time I help on the reception for an hour so get two salaries, what a load of bollocks.

If he was contracted for two different jobs then fair enough, but nowt in that list specifies that.
Oh and he's at his job a slightly more annoying version of humphries on BT.

Jeremy Vine got arsey on his radio show refusing to answer a callers questions also.

Lineker - £1.75/£1.8 million pa
Shearer - £400/450 thousand pa

You could probably get people to toe whatever line you want them to for that sort of money, couldn't you? ;)

well they can pay me 30 grand and I will replace shearer and talk absolute shite for 30 weeks a year.

Love to know what mills gets paid.

You just shot down your entire argument!

Saying the BBC will lose talent is a poor argument IMO - let the BBC develop young talent and then leave for the big bucks if they want, as long as I don't have to pay their salary!

I couldn't give a fuck who reads the news or plays Charlie in Casualty!

Gary Lineker is the worst though, how can the cheeky fucker comment on transfer fees when he's clearly overpaid, by any rational measure.
Clearly you didn't see my tongue firmly in my cheek. The fact that I laid out a clear argument and then contradicted it in one line with a jibe at Chris Evans should surely draw a conclusion from you that I merely have a personal dislike for Chris Evans and was making a joke of it, rather than actually being so idiotic as to 'shoot down' my own argument?!

You say that saying the BBC will lose talent is a poor argument, but then fail to offer any reason as to why you think that. What are the logical flaws in the argument? To me, it seems pretty sound and in fact is backed by evidence. There are scores of presenters (Parkinson, Jonathan Ross, Robert Peston) and and programme makers (British Bake Off being only the most recent example) that have jumped ship for cash. The only reason the likes of Graham Norton and Gary Lineker (and what you personally think of them is irrelevant- their programmes are very popular) haven't jumped ship is probably because of money and contract, rather than loyalty to the BBC.

I thought you did it 52 weeks of the year ;)

I happily pay the TV license because I don't pay for the Sky shite, they can earn what they want the quality, the coverage, the presentation is so much better and cheaper than others.

I see it as a British institution that carries british values and culture around the world, it,s worth so much more than just how much we pay them...... And it,s currently under attack from political groups who want the BBCs liberal mouth shutting for good. Making them be explicit about wages was a good move to achieving it.

I was fairly reliably told that, back in the day, the 'big three', Lineker, Hansen and Lawrensen were paid a combined 5 million for MOTD. They were all told that they would get a pay reduction and that's when Hansen chucked it, apparently he was on 1.5m and Lawrensen 1m. The others that came on occasionally were paid per appearance.

Would you pass off the strangely edited highlights as a true reflection of what occurred on a football pitch in East Manchester every other week?
Would you allow weird angles to be shown which don't conclusively show offside decisions and then argue that the player was "definitely" offside?
Would you drone on about "underachieving" due to the "money they've spent"?
Would you take to twitter and say "What reasons do I have for having an anti-City agenda"?
...etc.

;)

PS - Mills isn't driven by money, we all know that, he probably does it for free as his pearls of wisdom are providing a public service for the good of the nation. Probably
