Personally I think its a big blow for England. Beckham would always have been a great option from the bench. His crosses and set pieces are second to none.

Yeah I remember the eight dippers because it was all the BBC used to talk about, the Liverpool/England coningent. I'm extremely patriotic, but I cant stand how the media beefs up this England side and then destroys it when it fails. Also, as Ive mentioned, I find it hard to cheer the likes of Rooney and Carrick etc when I curse em every week for their club. As for Beckham, its also a personal issue, I wont go into it, but its not just that he played for the rags, I just hate the b*stard full stop.

Beckham is the epitome of everything I despise about the Rags. I do not wish him well, on the basis that if he can badmouth my chosen team, then he is beyond the pale, and I feel that the England football team is the FA's team, and I have a pathological hatred for that bunch of scrimshanking ne'er-do-wells. Just my opinion. I dont give a shit about where he played in the past, or now for that matter. It doesn't matter, for England they all come under the same banner. I'd happily bring Beckham on for the last 20 minutes of a game when set pieces are very important. He's proven time and again he can change a game, something which the likes of Milner or Walcott could. And seriously, Walcott is gash.

Since when did patriotism or how much you support your national team have anything to do with maturity? I was much more in to supporting England when I was about 12 than I am now. Plently of people aren't that arsed about England, it doesn't make them less mature than you, it just means they don't think in exactly the same way as you. Which I am sure you find horrifying.
