Tevez under Ferguson, Toure & Adebayor under Wenger, Bridge & SWP under Mourinho, Bellamy under too many to mention, Barry under O'Neill, Lescott under Moyes.
Didi Hamann was a friend of a friend and he used to say that training at City was a complete joke compared to Liverpool. Would you trust his judgement?
Mancini has managed in the Premiership for 4 months and 17 games. Plenty of managers who have been successful in European leagues have bombed in the Premiership.
tevez clearly didn't see eye to eye with fergie. bellamy didn't see eye to eye with anyone from rafa benitez to bobby robson. bridge and swp were very much bit part players under mourinho.... he used to constantly scream at swp from the sidelines. barry spent one season under o'neill. big whoop.
tevez and the arsenal boys have been regulars in title winning teams. the rest haven't. I would struggle to think of any of the players mentioned as wise, experienced heads who really knew a thing or two. toure, perhaps. the rest are, with the best will in the world, over-grown kids, many of whom have big mouths. apart from barry, perhaps, but he's just too passive to carry any real say so. there aren't genuine senior figures at our club apart from sylvinho and viera. those two, I would be interested to hear from.
anyway so far he hasn't bombed, not by a long shot. fewer goals conceded, as many scored, and more points in the bag. there were four in the race for fourth, and we were lagging behind two of them. now there are two, and despite a bitter defeat and two extraordinary results from spurs, it's still in our hands. the probabilities implied by the odds are about 57% to spurs, 43 to us. and that's after two huge wins on the trot for spurs that will have had MOTD man racing to put money on them, we all know the market over-reacts to the last result.
It begs the question why these players would think Mancini isn't getting the best from them yet had faith in Hughes.robbieh said:bizzbo said:tevez clearly didn't see eye to eye with fergie. bellamy didn't see eye to eye with anyone from rafa benitez to bobby robson. bridge and swp were very much bit part players under mourinho.... he used to constantly scream at swp from the sidelines. barry spent one season under o'neill. big whoop.

Totally agree with this analysis. Vieira has been a great captain of both country and club and if he thinks that RM is a decent manager then that will do for me. What the likes of SWP, Bellamy, Robinho etc think is irrelevant.
By the way Bizzbo Mancini has played 13 teams in the league that MH also had a crack at this year.
9 wins 2 losses and 2 draws. 29 points. Goals for 33 against 10.
Hughes
5 wins 7 draws 1 loss. 22 points Goals for 24 against 19
Over a 38 match season that is basically a 21 points diference.
You may be onto something there Blue, if there is anything in these rumours then I suspect that could well be a factor. Take Tevez and Bellamy for example, intelligent play isn't high up on their list of attributes, on the other hand Viera clearly rates Mancini and I seem to remember Kompany was recently quoted as saying the fella was a tactical genius.Blue2112 said:From the moment Mancini walked in I noticed that whenever he makes a substitution he spends an age discussing details with the oncoming player, he unfolds his slip of paper and head down goes through his plans at length. I don't think I've seen him yet make a quick substitution, not once, even Viera on saturday took an eternity to come on whilst he stood on the sidelines deep in discussion. Now without being privvy to his day to day methods I just wonder if this is a small incite into how he goes about his buisness. If he is like this in a game where time is limited and at a premium then does it follow that he carries this detail into training and maybe just maybe he over discusses tactics and formations in midweek. Or alternatively do we have the right type of player to listen, understand and apply his ideas to their full potential?
