Is this VBR bloke real?

Even at the match at half time they showed the chances from the first half on the big screen and I counted 6 good chances for us to score.

I do realise that it doesn't fit in with your "Hughes out" argument though so feel free to not acknowledge this as i'm sure you will.

6 chances? Now you're just lying. I haven't even said Hughes out for months or even once in this thread, so stop making things up.

Ireland hit the bar
Ball flashed across goal
Good save from their keeper from Bellamy after scramble
Kompany from corner
Robinho hit side netting
Zabaleta had a shot over the bar

That's 6 by my counting. And I was even specific for you!

6 "good chances for us to score"? Not likely, 4 out of the 6 aren't even half chances.

Yes vbr Boro did have 3 one to ones, but they only carved out one with their own play. The second one was because of a poor pass by Stevie that gave De Jong no chance and the ball was played to Alves whilst Micah was day dreaming. The third one was because Vinnie missed his clearance allowing Alves through on goal.

However the thread was about Bellamy and he had a very good game.

Yes and you see my point that we were shaky at the back? I'm not saying we were fucking dire and they should all be benched and Hughes sacked, I'm just saying it wasn't a stand out performance and we need to keep working at it to iron out the mistakes and uncertainty at the back. Thanks to Shay Given we've ground out a 1-0 victory and if we cut out the mistakes at the back and be more physical up front I'll be looking forward to the end of this season and the next. Agreed, Bellamy was excellent today.

He couldn't have played instead of Bridge. He is cup tied.

I thought either Bridge or De Jong could play ie one player only who has played already this season in any euro competition.

Thats how I understand it also. I suppose MH thinks we have better options at DM than we do at LB, simple stuff really, I dont fault the fella.

Also says that if you've played in the UEFA Cup for one team, you can't play in it for another. So we could pick one player that has played in the champions league. A champions league side could only pick one player that had previously played in the UEFA Cup (Real Madrid had to choose between Huntelaar and Diarra).

No, he can't have his own thread, he was a Hughes signing, praise for him would be like admiting that maybe Hughes knows what he's doing.

10 pages on Jo suggesting Hughes hasn't got a clue is fine though.

IMO the signing of Bellamy proves that Hughes has no idea what he's doing and it will cost him his job

6 goals in his last 7 games??

support the manager....simple, not as though were fighting relegation is it

I have supported the manasger and will continue to do so. The siging of Bellamy was wrong he is not what we needed and we now have a very 1 dimensional team because of it

youre right, we didnt need a striker with pace who will chase everything and get stuck in.....oh and who can score, shouldve stuck with benji and lethal vass :/ Hughes you fool

which ever way you dress it up he's an above average journeyman. He'll run around like a headless chicken for 90 minutes smash through brick walls for certain managers but a journeyman all the same

Considering the billions we have at our disposal is this someone you really associate with that type of club. Don't get me wrong he'll dig us out of a hole that we are in but come next season he'll be finding the same way as Hughes out of the door
