Due to his injuries he's not really had a chance to gel with the team - he probably would have rather not been injured don't you think, or is that his fault too ?

He may not be your idea of a £50million defender , but that is what the market dictates .

I don't doubt that he'd rather be playing, but he's gonna have to nail some fitness this time as we need some sort of stability at Left Back. Whether his fault or not, he has been injured for most of his City career and we need some sort of resolve. My point in line with mosside is that that resolve may be cutting losses and getting in a new first choice Left Back.

Not true. If you think he is strong defensively, fine I have criticised his defensive ability which I think was valid

That's just what we should do, IMO. If you miss more or less a whole season with an injury you have to have a storming, at the very least consistent second season. Too many worries and questions marks will remain over his reliability now. Don't know why it's so bloody hard for us to find decent fullbacks.

I never said he was fine defensively, I acknowledged his flaws, just find it laughable that some think we're more defensively sound with Delph and I also believe Mendy gets harsh criticism of his ability just because of his off field antics.
