Mendys, as it came at 0-0 when we were in total control and meant we were chasing the game.

We were in complete control when Sterling was put through, and would have been 2-1 up, completely dominating Chelsea and they'd have had to start chasing the game.

If Sterling passes we win, If Mendy doesn't give the ball away, it's 0-0 and we're still not winning, nor really breaking Chelsea down.

Disagree entirely. It was a massive chance, but the wider point is Mendys complete and utter lack of intelligence. He's cost us far too often. Its time for him to go.

If the defence isn't shorted out in the summer question need too be asked . The lack of pace through the middle is frightening and Mendys defending quality leaves alot to be desired its square pegs in round holes at the back, Zinchenko isn't the answer . The center of midfield is one paced and the one shining light his big Kev who his world class . Needed in the summer, Left back and right back who can get up and down, two center halfs with pace and quality center midfielder who can go box to box. Going forward isn't the problem its basic defending thats letting us down. Big summer coming up over too you Pep

honestly, daft pass, either he or Gundogan needed to own that situation but they're both too used to passing the buck.

The crap tackle just screamed to me a lad who knew a silly, last ditch tackle after giving the ball away had already cost him the past couple of seasons of his career so tried to go in and protect himself, but it just made it a non-tackle and let Pulisic in. You can't play with fear and we can't carry fear in this squad anymore. It's crippled us at Anfield and in other big moments, we need to let the fear go and bring a fresh mentality to the squad, with a new group of core leaders.

The only mistakes I can think of from Mendy are this one and the Wolves one against Adama. And remember both of those are him coming back from injury and/or covid.

People ignore his attacking contributions too much, should definitely have atleast 1 assist from his 2 easy tap in crosses.

Made a mistake, hopefully he never makes that kind of communication mistake again. He will learn from it, stop slagging him off.

Other players made mistakes in this game too and get no where near the hate. Absurd.

Shouldn't you be in the Sterling thread pointing out how he's the biggest flop in Manchester City history and we'd be lucky to get 20m off Everton for him?

Yeah, the whole he constantly makes mistakes argument confuses me as I'm certain he's barely made any. People always act like he's a buffoon but on the pitch he's possibly our most level headed player after Ederson.
