Let's not kid ourselves - Bertrand isn't close to being of the same quality as Mendy so hopefully it's just the usual postering from the selling club. Similar to Walker coming in at right back, Bertrand would be an improvement on what we currently have but that isn't difficult.

Per 90mins, which by that metric Giroud was much better than Aguero last season
Why would he come as back up in a World Cup year when he can stay at Southampton and play all season and hope to get on the plane to Russia

Fuck me some of you seriously need to wipe your fannies.
We wont sign Bertrand AND Mendy. Thats £70M+ on one full back position.
Not saying its done, but seems like theyre already moving from top targets.

No way we would miss out on mendy over around £1m! Pep will get who he wants as much as possible this summer and I still only see mendy coming in the next week or so
