Bernardo Silva: "When I'm not feeling confident about a game, I look around and I see Laporte, Ederson, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, David [Silva], Aguero, whoever. I look and I think, why am I afraid? That's the good thing about having such amazing teammates."

“I remember talking with Fernandinho about getting tired after playing consecutively. I was complaining about my back/leg and he just said 'You are 25, when you get to my age, you won’t play a game without pain in three different parts!

From then I thought 'Let’s do it.' It doesn’t matter if you have pain in your leg, in your arm, your head, it doesn’t matter; you go for it. It won’t solve the problem complaining. You try to eat, sleep, have a good lifestyle and go for it." [via

Hopefully we will see the best of Bernado silva next season , he is amazingly talented. Do people think he will be a regular starter next season ? If we play him next to kev and Rodri in midfield then people will be thinking will Foden ever get a chance , or do people think he will play out on the right wing when we already have Mahrez and sterling who cover that position?

I think it’s a really Interesting one with Bernado because he would get into any other premier league team.

In Bernardo's first season He was adapting.

In his second season, with KDB injured, he got to play the majority of the season on the right side of midfield, moving to the wings towards the tail end of the season.

And the third season, even during pre-season Bernardo still looked burned out, but still Kevin being healthy, and him becoming a "permanent" right winger, all accumulated to give us this horrible Bernardo form.

Kevin De Bruyne & Bernardo Silva CANNOT play together in midfield to the best of their abilities, they want to occupy the same space.

Bernardo Silva told ManCity.com: "You have some areas on the pitch where you feel a little bit more comfortable, but me I've played almost all my career on the RIGHT SIDE as an offensive midfielder, or number 8. That's where I feel more comfortable."

So with the acquisition of houssem Aouar, Bernardo will be getting a left side midfield partner.

The General Midfield Pairings:
Phil Foden & Kevin De Bruyne
Houssem Aouar & Bernardo Silva
Adrian Bernabé & Tommy Doyle

Left sided:
Foden (Both sides)
Aouar
Bernabé (Both sides)

Right sided:
De Bruyne
Bernardo
Doyle

We will have an incredible midfield on paper , just hope pep can keep them all happy ! Players like Bernado are too good for the bench

Kevin will be turning 29. We need Kevin to be able to give 100% energy in every game he plays in, without the fear of worrying about fatigue for the next game(s).

As said by
Riyad Mahrez: "#ManCity is a team built to win every game, and we try to win everything we play for."

And for us, if our midfield trio is balanced on paper and has an energetic press for 90 minutes, we are almost impossible to beat.

17/18 the trio was balanced and flowing with energy.

18/19 Bernardo(and Kev when he played) supplied the energy but Fernandinho, the backbone, was fading out

19/20 the balance died(no fern & old silva) & the energy depleted(Bernardo on wings, Kev can't give 100% every game)

20/21...
Kevin & Bernardo(+Doyle) have 60+ games to share 1 position

Foden & Aouar(+Bernabé) would have 60+ games to share 1 position.

If you have Gundogan in the squad, then that's when I can start to see problems occurring.

Agree with all that , just With the limited starts Foden and garcia had This season , can’t see Doyle and bernabe getting much time next season

They will most likely take the same route as Foden & Garcia in 19/20, Making their appearance mostly from the bench and during cup games. Slowly blooding them in

After all they are coming straight from the academy with almost zero first team experience.

Foden & Garcia Will become regulars next season, no doubts.

Both Doyle and Bernabe surely won't be here next season. He's 19, at that age where he needs regular games to hit his potential and he's not quite there yet to be making semi regular appearances a la Phil the last few years. Doyle's a bit different, he's about a year younger and should stay at the Etihad this coming season, cup appearances, odd bench here and there in other comps with a view to loan or step up the season after.

As for Bernardo, he looks as if he'll be out on the wing again. Think Sterling's moving near permanently to the left, especially if we dont bring in a left footed replacement for Sane

What do you mean?

Are you talking about
Foden? Doyle? Bernabé?

Doyle or Bernabé?
Bernabé made his first team debut at 17.
Doyle started in a cup game, out of position, against a PL team.

How is Doyle different from Bernabé?

Where should Bernabé and Doyle go?

I was talking about Bernabe for the first part. Bernabe has played a few minutes here and there, no real first team game time and it doesn't look like a spot is going to open up for him to get such game time. I would sanction a loan move. As for Doyle, he's different in my view, being a year younger and aiming next season to be leading the academy teams with more opportunities given to him throughout the season. Cup games, off the bench in the league and CL. Like I literally said in my previous post.

I think Bernabe could do with a loan to a Championship side, I think he needs regular senior game time to develop that bit further, especially being a bit smaller and less physical, time away from the academy and at a senior side could really help him with that side of his game. I don't think thats controversial to say at all.
