I never thought I'd say this, and I mean this as a positive, but Bernardo has all the tools to be a world class... Water carrier.

Technically he's outstanding, his workrate is unmatched and his energy levels are immense. He's no idiot by any stretch, but I don't think he's on the level of David, KDB, or Gundogan (or Rodri from what I've seen) as far as in game intelligence is concerned, at least as of now. Having him play a deeper, completely unselfish role where his main job is to provide support for others does not bring the best out of him but it brings out the best in so many others. Mendy, Otamendi, Gundogan, Sterling, and De Bruyne ALL benefited from him.

I can see that, his ball control is a huge asset deeper in midfield as well.

He never has been the greatest passer on our team, his crossing is good and he has a good finish, but like Gundo he can always do that by playing deeper by default and drifting forwards when we pin the opposition back and take a shot.

He isn't fast or dynamic like Kevin. At Monaco he played RM in their 442 and so people declared him a right winger, but that monaco team allowed him to drift centrally and let the fullbacks overlap and with 3 forwards ahead of him. Feel like he might be molded into a player like Thiago Alcantara at Barca/Bayern when Pep had him.
