This. If Bernardo wanted out he should have sorted that out before the season started like the others. If Barcelona comes 4-5 games in to our season asking to sign him we should just tell them we have no interest in selling at this point, if you wanted him should have put in a bid 6 weeks ago. Your mess with offloading FDJ is your problem, not ours. Considering we basically cant sign a replacement who wont be a downgrade I would even turn down 150m. No money is worth making our team worse, especially not a year when we have already sold players for 200m+. I would rather win the league than win the net spend trophy. He’s wanted to leave for over 2 years. Why would he deny something publically that he’s wanted for so long? If they bid a reasonable amount for him, Bernardo is gone this window. He’s already stayed for 2 years and been an incredible professional despite his wish to leave. He doesn’t say a bad word to anyone.
