What a disapointment, weather ok,loads of publicity, great turn out of ex players.Crowd very disapointing,150 or so.Those of you that didnt go,try and get the programme, well worth the money.

Disappointing to read that it was so poorly supported. I'd have gone if I'd been in Mcr but will get my old man to write off and get a programme at least.

Great afternoon despite the very disappointing turn-out which I think was round 300-350 - as previously posted the weather was fine and sunny, fantastic support from the City Legends' players - not sure what else could have been done to promote the game as we had lots of radio, newspapers and web publicity???

I'm sure we'll still have raised a few quid for the charity's involved . . . the commemorative programme appears to have been well received and we still have some copies available at £2 including post and packaging (see early post for address details).

There was some great play from both sides and some equally great goals - the video highlights, photographs and a match report will be available on http://thetownblog.blogspot.com/ over the next couple of days.

May I thank all of those who did attend, as well as the players and officials of both clubs, sponsors and programme advertisers, MCFC staff and officials, the Referee and his assistants, the Former Players' Association, John Gwynne and special guest Steve Fleet. Sorry if I have missed anyone!

The Former Players' Association (Derek Partridge) donated a signed City shirt to our club after the game (containing the signatures of the City players involved today). I have in turn donated this to the Man City Centenary Supporters' Association in the hope it can raise them some more cash.

funniest bit for me was when Pete Barnes did a couple of jogs down the wing, he has put on weight...........

then just before half time threw up, looked like he had had a couple of pints pre match...................

I would have popped down, but was in another dimension with Abu Dhabi jetlag and stuff, overnight flights just screw you around!

It was a good match, it was a shame there weren't more people but the Legends gave us a good game. John Gwynne (?) from Sky Sports who was pitch side with his microphone was very funny.

The second half kicking off before the officials had arrived and with 12 Legends on the field was good fun and the fact that toward the middle of the second half a couple of the Town players pulled on City jerseys and played for us was brilliant.

Thanks for a very enjoyable few hours. Good to see Andy Dibble in goal in the first half and then out in the field second half. Think the Town players must have thought he was moving the goal posts in the first half the number of times they managed to hit the post without the ball crossing the line!!

Thanks to everyone involved.

Apologies to Town fan, pathetic turn out from City fans.Good luck to St Helens F C.

The turnout was quite good for a city old boys game.
