Some other personal faves:

Springsteen at Wembley Stadium - Born in USA tour.

Queen at Bingley Hall - Day at Races tour; the gig that inspired We Are The Champions due to the crowd response.

Rush R30 Tour at NEC

Zep at Knebworth

Rainbow at FTH

Black Sabbath supported by Van Halen at the Apollo in '78

Kiss at Bingley Hall in 1980

Springsteen in Leeds on same tour was special.

Would love to have seen Rainbow, Blackmore is an absolute genius. Remember seeing Purple years ago at NEC, it was seated on the floor area but with everyone standing. Blackmore was stage right & the whole crowd was focussed on him all night, virtually ignoring Gillian and the rest. The only time I've ever seen the like at a gig.

Blackmore is my favourite guitar player. The FTH gig was the first time I saw him and my jaw dropped. Saw every subsequent Rainbow tour, including two nights at the Apollo with Dio still on vocals; five gigs on the tour with Bonnet plus the first Donnington show. At Granby Halls, he smashed two guitars in the encore. One of the most exciting and unpredictable performers. Didn't see him with Purple unitl the Knebworth comeback. Was the gig you saw at NEC the one where he came on after the rest of the band and chased the cameraman off stage?

I got to see Chris Ledoux a couple years before he died. Had an amazing show. My wife still compares everybody we ever see to that one. Probably not the style of music many of you care for.

A few decades ago I saw Lloyd Cole and the Commotions promoting their new album Rattlesnake, and that was an impressive show, but the best, for me, is Bruce Springsteen at Lancashire Cricket Club 10 years or so ago.

I've been to countless concerts over the years since the early '70's but that is the standout performance for me.

The Boss, at the top of his game, just can't be bettered.

Forgot about Whitesnake and Slade at Castle Donington. Both were superb,Slade just edging it.

Slade at Reading was very good as they stole the show, and made a big comeback.

You lucky bastard I would have loved to have seen at least one show, went to fan fair in 1999 but he was not on the list of capitol records artists who were performing that year. Never came across anything nasty being said about Chris just seemed a real nice guy, and world champion rodeo rider to boot. Again you lucky sod ;-)

Slade more than edged it at Donington they were fantastic - 60,000 people singing 'Merry Christmas' in the wet in August, with the band just standing there watching, was one of the most pure, uplifting and joyful things I ever experienced, with the mayhem of the the crowd chucking everything in the air during Cum On Feel the Noiz one of the funniest. Some poor yank in the crowd near us shouted 'Who the fuck are Slade?' as they came on and nearly got himself lynched.

As for Blackmore, he was my god (for a while he even eclipsed King Colin) and he could be a right mardy bastard - I was there at Wembley when he refused the encore & the crowd went nuts chucking seats around, but also at Donington (80) and Knebworth with Purple. But the best was still classic 77 Rainbow with Cozy (RIP) and Dio (RIP), before he started trying to be Reo Speedwagon.

Enjoyed Queen @ MR 1986/Live Aid 1985,But this year The Who doing Quadrophenia @ Liverpool Echo-seen em 30 plus times, but this was excellent
