Best concert you've ever attended...

Stone Roses in Lyon or Green Day at the Boardwalk in Manchester.

Forgot about Whitesnake and Slade at Castle Donington. Both were superb,Slade just edging it.

Slade at Reading was very good as they stole the show, and made a big comeback.

Slade more than edged it at Donington they were fantastic - 60,000 people singing 'Merry Christmas' in the wet in August, with the band just standing there watching, was one of the most pure, uplifting and joyful things I ever experienced, with the mayhem of the the crowd chucking everything in the air during Cum On Feel the Noiz one of the funniest. Some poor yank in the crowd near us shouted 'Who the fuck are Slade?' as they came on and nearly got himself lynched.

As for Blackmore, he was my god (for a while he even eclipsed King Colin) and he could be a right mardy bastard - I was there at Wembley when he refused the encore & the crowd went nuts chucking seats around, but also at Donington (80) and Knebworth with Purple. But the best was still classic 77 Rainbow with Cozy (RIP) and Dio (RIP), before he started trying to be Reo Speedwagon.

I saw REO Speedwagon headline the Day on the Green in Oakland; that was a bloody good show. UFO were on the bill and we got to watch that from the side of the stage, which was pretty cool and quite amusing when they decided to try and wreck their back line at the end because they weren't happy with their performance.

Enjoyed Queen @ MR 1986/Live Aid 1985,But this year The Who doing Quadrophenia @ Liverpool Echo-seen em 30 plus times, but this was excellent

Couldn't go to Live Aid due to a prior commitment!

I did go to the Freddie Mercury Tribute at Wembley and that was a another great gig.

I think we may have been over this before but wasn't that impressed by The Who this year. Much preferred seeing the real them in 1974 and later versions at the Albert Hall, doing Tommy at Earls Court with Billy Idol etc, and on their home turf at the Shepherd's Bush Empire.

-- Fri Nov 15, 2013 2:15 pm --

Crystal Castles a few years ago, or U2 in 2005. City of Blinding Lights was incredible, and I'll never forget Where The Streets Have No Name.

February 7th (my birthday) 1980.

Iggy Pop at the Apollo - finished at half Ten (saw Ian Curtis, Hooky and Tony Wilson in the crowd)

Same night - Joy Division at the New Osbourne Club - came on about half eleven. Last time I saw them live - he topped himself a couple of months later.

What a night!

I saw Iggy at the Apollo when Bowie played keyboards for him.

Depeche mode last night in manchester, absolutely fantastic from start to finish, they was on for two hours, hit after hit after hit, played a bit of the old stuff like black celebration, behind the wheel,a question of time, policy of truth..etc....dave gahan had the crowd eating out of his hand, they've always put on energetic shows and last night was no different...
Been going for over 33 years but still kick arse every time they get on stage....

It was a great gig last night. I could easily watch them all over again today.
We went down to see them at the O2 in May? and it was miles better last night. They played a few more new ones down there but have obviously realised the crowd want to hear the old stuff, and theres so much to choose from. The missus was close to wetting herself at Gahans
performance.
He can certainly put on a show. Man love
