newcastle away 1968 truely a fantastic day from the moment we set off till the time we got home never seen as many city fans at an away match before or since. coming out after the game saw Joe Mercer wascoming out of the ground we followed him singing his name and patting him on the back, hard to believe he was walking to newcastle bbc to do an interview after the game how thing have changed.

said to be over 17,ooo fans travelled that day it seemed every car on the motorway had blue and white scarfs hanging out of the windows

Most of y faily went on coaches, very few people in City supporting areas had cars in those days. It was probably the best City pitch invasion ever.

My dad and uncle still talk about this, walking up the gallowgate hearing city songs thinking we'd taken their end ,then realising they were in the shit and running across the pitch to city end .

its got to be at the swamp lost year! When benjani scored the second it was just unreal in there everyone went completely mental! mind you i was nervous for the rest of the game but it was an unblievable day! ewood 2000 was quality though and this year! everton and villa with richards scoring in the last minute were awesome but best away ever was last year by far!
