The return match at Leeds Rd. was also rammed. We and Hudds fought out the title for much of that season.
Crossan was superb for us in that promotion year, even tho' he was approaching the end of his career. He had an amazing personal story which included a life ban for standing up to the mafia who ran Irish football in those days. Worth looking up.

He moved to Holland and Belgium to play because of that ban and only returned to Sunderland after it was fully lifted. I remember Crossan coming to Maine Road with Sunderland and destroying our defence. I was delighted when he signed for City a couple of years later.

Edin's against Spurs away is not just the best City header, but probably the best headed goal i've ever seen. To divert that ball back across goal with a standing leap and not much pace on the ball shows you how much power and technique that header required.

I've always admired Dzeko at Spurs (he also scored a great header at Everton in 2014) but...
