Didn't it come off his shoulder, not his head?Definitely not the Tom Hutch own goal against spurs ouch ouch ouch and still hurting
The 'Dunneymonster' scored a fair few own goals for us didn't he! Remember the one at home to the Rags and one from about 20 yards against WBA, reckon there could well have been a 'belting header' in there somewhere?Terry Phelan scored a belting headed own goal for us at Anfield
Off his twisted beakDidn't it come off his shoulder, not his head?
A couple of years later I seem to remember a diving header by Buzzer in a cup reply at Reading. Like the Crossan goal, a photographer caught it perfectly if I recall correctly but I now cant find it anywhere.!A diving header by Johnny Crossan v Huddersfield on New Years Day 1966. There were over 47,000 in Maine Road for that match, City’s biggest crowd in years.
A photographer behind the goal managed to catch it just right with Crossan in mid air. That snap was plastered all over the papers the next day.
Alf Grey. Bastard refI had sneaked in the Kippax in the under 14s queue though I was a week off being 16, the Kippax went berserk when Reeves scored, it took a good minute or so to realise it had been disallowed for a phantom push.
I expected great things of the Dave Watson header until I saw it on You Tube and it wasn't quite the distance out that it was made out to be, I'd say the Mick McCarthy one against United in 1986 was better.
It's funny how you remember things differently as the years go by.I expected great things of the Dave Watson header until I saw it on You Tube and it wasn't quite the distance out that it was made out to be, I'd say the Mick McCarthy one against United in 1986 was better.
