Best player from our doldrums years (1980 to roughly 2009)

The last one off the Wilbraham High conveyor belt to wear the blue shirt following Roger Palmer, Alex Williams and Eric Nixon. Prior to Roger we had a lad called Greatorex iirc who signed for the rags and who seemed to get a name check every assembly from the (obviously rag) Headmaster. Not sure if Paul Hart (Johnny Harts’ son) went to Wilbraham, his younger brother, Nigel, did and he carved out a career in the lower leagues.

SWP was a shining light in the darkest of times, I loved him then and still do, he didn't want to leave City but did so to save the club.

Met them all. Eric Nixon used to go in the Old House at Home on Burton Road which was a huge Blue pub in those days. It was my local.

I can still recall how gutted i was when he joined Chelsea, Clive was a very, very good player
 
One name springs to mind. Trevor Francis. Top top class, knew we were fucked financially when we sold him and were heading for trouble.

Also remember buying the Trevor Francis electronic striker game and playing it constantly till the keys went on it after about 3 months- a little like Trevor’s hamstrings that season.
