So i guess it is ben arfa fault that de jong the thug decided to scissor tackle with more force than needed and to bend his right knee to make contact with ben arfa,you can see that de jong could have stayed up and just bugged ben arfa if he wanted to as tevez was right there next to him so he had no other way to turn to but no,the maniac that he is just can't think properly and know that being a destroyer doesn't mean lunging at every opportunity.

The problem is not that he broke ben arfa leg but more the way he tackled hatem with such force that it caused the leg break,call it luck and ben arfa being unlucky but it is too many players who have been on the receiving of stupid and needless nigel de jong excessive force to say the man isn't too overly aggressive,you just have to look at some of the youtube clips of him to know he doesn't care if he takes out someone as long as he clears everything and that to me is wrong.

Tiote was also a destroyer yesterday and you didn't see him make this sort of challenges especially so early in the game which is what really makes this injury to ben arfa the more obvious for me that de jong wanted to send a message to hatem that if you go on them mazy runs of yours this is what is going to happen so in some way scare him or make him play a different kind of game.

Nigel is a good defensive mid who just needs to learn how to decrease the force that he uses to be less reckless and cost other players well being.

If you want people to take you seriously, stop being a moron.

I applaud the decision of the Dutch FA. It was a reckless and over-agressive challenge which endangered the safety of another player.
And it's not the first leg De Jong has broken... I'm pleased the Dutch took this decision because it's bad rep for them. That WC-final destroyed decades of history of great football they had build up.

Oh, and according to a number of polls in the Dutch media, 70% of the supporters are behind the decision taken by Van Marwijk.
RAG!

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

I like De Jong, and I like his no-nonsense tackling. I also think that the challenge at weekend wasn't 'wild' as it has been described....BUT, I do think he could stay on his feet alot more and still be as effective. There's no need to go to ground as often as he does.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

As far as I am concerned the Dutch coach, who was responsible for their methods, during the World Cup final is trying to distance himself from the abuse and using NDJ as an excuse.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

Buck there is the problem,de jong likes to go to the ground a little too much and when he does other players always seem to be the ones coming out of it with injuries so a clever person would say to himself maybe i should try and be more careful and not be so reckless but you need to have other players well being in your head at times.

It doesn't matter how many times you say sorry because no one is making you go flying in into challenges when maybe you shouldn't have done them and could have actually been more effective staying on his feet and not risk other players well being,that is all people want,just think like a human being and not like some sort of brainless thug.

I am not a united fan and will never be as i hate man utd with their obvioys cheating and help they received from referees in the late 90s and stuff but i despise bad and reckless players.

-- Mon Oct 04, 2010 1:13 pm --

It is about knowing how to control yourself and nigel clearly has shown that he can't think properly on the football pitch.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

I'm not going to defend NDJ's tackle; it was a poor tackle. But, exactly what bearing it has on his representing his national team evades me!

Ben Arfa looks like a talented lad. I hope he recovers.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

Lovely stuff from the Dutch coach, if i was Nige i'd tell him to go fvck himself and announce my retirement from International football.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

Really really surprised to be honest. Hes not done nige any favours at all.

If the national coach who its fuck all to do with takes this action for no reason it might encourage the FA.

I really dont get it he gets the ball his feet are on the ground. Not 2 footed not reckless. The ref is 3 yards away doesnt even give a free kick, in fact he gives us a free kick for a latter challenge.

Whats the point of having refs in the first place if evryone ignores there decisions even when as in this case they are right.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

Most City fans like ND because he plays for us but to be brutally honest i'd rather see this sort of player cut from our squad.

If someone with his reputation broke say Tevez's leg we'd all be shouting for him to be banned forever.

I'd rather see barry playing as the holding player as he does for England and then play Yaya and silva in front.

Now we are quite solid with settled defensive players we need to use our possesion better when attacking and ND is a none event in this area.

Re: Big Nige Dropped {merged}

There´s a clear division coming out of this - the players and managers (bar the coward Van Marwijk) are coming out in favour of Nige whilst the muppet commentators and so called pundits are having their pound of flesh - I know whose word I would trust and if I were NDJ and anyone to do with the club I would have lawsuits reigning down on Talkscum towers like they were going out of fashion
