Blue Boycott of the Mirror

In defense of the Mirror, I'm sure it's a business decision, if you think about it, if you take away all the "real" fans(i.e. the ones that attend matches on a regular basis)you are left with people that either don't care, thus aren't going to read the story anyway or arm-chair supporters that simply follow a team on through TV. Of those I'm sure the VAST majority will be supporters of the "big 4" and perhaps more importantly most will be supporters of the rags, so the story I'm sure has great appeal to them. Either way, we are kind of a victimless target, unless you happen to be a supporter of city that it.

what the fuck?
villa have just had huge investment from a billionare american but he wants them to break the top 4 and us to go down?
jealous and very one sided
what a twat

I'm surprised no one from the Mirror has had a really good kicking yet. They've been taking the piss out of City for years. Maybe a warning is overdue.

They did, after the Mansfield picture piss take in the auto windscreens trophy. The 'journo' who had written it was on the receiving end of several verbal/physical assaults in the press box in the Maine stand and required the assistance of GMP's finest!

nearly did a while back,a few lads went into the press box at maine rd and shouted "is there anyone from the mirror here?"
some daft cnut journalist, like a dick, said yes and he was abused to fuck.
it nearly came on top for him so he legged it into the players lounge, which was located near the press box and locked the door.daft donald (remember that bell end?)proceeded to boot the door to fuck, which ended with him getting banned for life.
the wanker reporter did a piece on it the following monday, clearly rattled,he tried to justify why he did the piece on the 3007 attendance v mansfield which had set this off in the first place.
some dickheads have got very short memories

"They spread the idea that being a football fan is only about one thing, and that thing is success."

1.Does he know who we are, where is this arse from not had success for as long as he has been alive probably.

2.I believe City fans (well most) to be very realistic about the club.

3.This comment shows how much he knows about are wonderful club and fans well even football.

Yes some people have got a bit giddy now we have money but the majority are very realistic which if you have been a city fan long enough comes easy. The rest off his crappy article was just full of immature drivel from someone who is jealous at the fact that his own club get crapper every time another club is taken over.

I will send them a letter or email explaining to them the past 30 odd years to these clowns and that we deserve this more than most clubs.

No one moaned when the premiere league was set up and the rags had major backing from bskyb who had a major contract with the fa for the tv mmmmmmm dodgy and what success have they had?Blackburn had more money than most to spend and won the league chelsea had shed loads before us but nooo when little city get money we have ruined football tell you what fuck off the lot of you top four loving posh boys who write utter shit week in week out i shall only read the city mag from now on and boycott the lot of them i haven't heard a good sensible word from any so far.

I doubt they will even take notice anyway that there writers write shit as long as they sell there drivel.

He completely contradicts himself in that article, moaning about clubs with money buying success at the start then at the end he's moaning about the top 4 always being the top 4. He seems incapable of seeing that the only way to break into the closed shop on any permanent basis is to spend and spend big, just as Chelsea did to change it from the "big 3" to the "big 4" in the first place. Villa are doing well this season, just as Everton and Spuds have done in the past but they were never able to sustain a challenge to the top 4 for more than one season because they couldn't finance the required spending. I hate the Premiership and the greed-based crap that it stands for but I'm a City fan and I want to see some more success for the club and if we get it via ADUG's finances do you think I'd give a fuck?

exactly what i was going to post. form the article:

"Basically, I would like Manchester City to be relegated the good of football itself."

the big 4 must be shitting themselves that they are no longer guaranteed entry to the champions league.

i dont like the way theres so much money in the game these days, but its hardly mcfc's fault. the big 4 are (or were) so far ahead in terms of resources would it be preferable if every other club gave up any ambition to break that monopoly? at least if theres 5 teams chasing 4 places then things might get a bit interesting.

The question I have to ask is why would anyone buy any of the red top newspapers?
