Love James deserved entry in top 20. Moving on, Dear John, lose control,getting away with it, really hard
What's not to like
 
I am shocked in to shame to discover I didn't vote for James!
I guess Soft Cell took their place.....
Consistently great band and fantastic live.
Last saw them 2 years ago in Boston supporting the Psychedelic Furs (should have been the other way around as everyone there were there just to see Pretty In Pink..)
James had to be dragged off the stage after an hour as their 50 minute slot had expired....

Uh, I wouldn’t have been there to see Pretty in Pink. I love the P Furs; they were my #15 band. Got in on how good the debut, TTT and Mirror Moves are. Three outstanding records.

Fair enough and everyone like different stuff though for any band to get into my top 15 they needed more than 3 outstanding albums.
Loads of bands I like had only 2 or 3 outstanding albums so I didn’t consider them for my greatest band ever.

I saw the Furs twice in Tampa / Clearwater the last 3 years. First time everyone just sat down in the theatre politely applauding.
PIP comes on and everyone is stood up dancing. Song finishes and a good 20 / 30 leave. Gig was halfway through....

Saw them supporting Iggy Pop, they were much better than him. They are an underrated band I reckon, not that I voted for them. Their recent album ( from 2020 I think) was well worth a listen but then you probably already know that

Same thing happened when I went to see OMD! The kids were all there for So In Love.

Mine has to have at least three and I like Forever Now and some of their later stuff well enough. But it’s also personal; P Furs reminds me of some particular great people and times in my life which is why they sneak in.

My friend i was with at the Furs gig in October wanted a photo of band members after the gig so we stood outside for a while by the tour bus.
There was a couple in their late 40's I would say, with the 12 inch PIP single (the cover had Molly Ringwald on it so maybe it was the soundtrack album.) I took one look and said to my mate I'd meet him in the bar across the street when he was done.
The Butler Brothers had gone off elsewhere in some car so my friend had a pic with the guitarist. I asked about the couple wanting the vinyl cover signed and he said the guitarist told them he wasn't even in the band in the 80's but they still wanted it signed lol
