We’ve finally got a bunch of artists who have reached double figures! Here’s all the 10s.

Fleetwood Mac are the UK/US hybrid band I mentioned before the countdown, @Saddleworth2 will be delighted to see that Kate Bush is here along with The Small Faces and 80s icon Prince.

Being from the metropolitan borough of Wigan, The Verve qualify as one of the fifteen (Greater) Manc bands.

Would you believe that at #45, ABBA are the top EU band in the poll? They edged out Kraftwerk and U2 to take the European gold, those other two being the only other EU bands in the top 100.

Videos to follow.
Well, I do have albums by all that lot.

I've seen F.Mac a few times and Prince once. Also seen Richard Ashton play the odd Verve song when in a support slot.

The FOCs have come to play with this update! With the exception of The Verve. I saw them, very early on and called just Verve, support Stereolab at UMIST. I thought they were shit. Nothing’s changed.

Still a big fat zero.
I have.
2 from the sixties.
7 from the seventies.
2 from the eighties.
3 from the nineties.
1 from two thousand.

Your last paragraph says it all. Even that one record alone is worh more to music as a whole than everything the foos have done.

I like the foos, a bunch of great songs, even a couple of good albums, to pick out of a mass of ok stuff.

But if you had to erase one from history, which one would be missed most. Wouldn't be the foos, nobody can argue that.

Particularly lately, they have become just a radio friendly generic bearded pop band with wrist bands. The ultra safe act choice for people who like to say they like the rock music. I always look forward to their new albums, to find myself bitterly disappointed. Then stick on their old stuff for a bit. Then I put on Nirvana.
Can’t disagree with all of this mostly. I love the first two records, and love entire stretches but not really the entire records up through “Wasting Light”, and since then haven’t enjoyed their stuff much at all.
