Bond films

You have just described every Bond film. You accept that as the norm and enjoy it with those limitations you mentioned. Life too short.
I disagree, early bond and even moores first one were quite slick, then they went for comedy, Dalton, arguably the best bond followed the grittiness of the novels and was ahead of it's time, brosnan went gimicky, the reboot with Casino Royale seemed we would get a more daltonesque grittier bond again, but it reverted back to cheesy action shite of Brosnan.

With all the Bond experts gathered... Let's address the elephant in the room.

Is the new one (No Time to Die) actually any good and more importantly is it a 'Bond film'?

After watching the travesty that was the sequel films for Star Wars. I approach any modern films of classic franchises with the upmost caution. Which means I'm6 too cowardly to actually watch it.

Reading between the lines and the snippets of info I've seen it sounds like Bond is outshone by one of the female characters in terms of what classic Bond should be about and presumably this was why there was all this talk about the next Bond being a woman in the next installment.

Not sure if the next one is true but apparently the most 'cuddling' Bond does in NTTD is with his girlfriend who's wearing a cardigan? If that's true then to me it doesn't sound like a Bond film.

Do I have good reason to be worried?

Its an average action film, but it does do well in introducing the idea and in act it opens up the chance that 007 doesn't have to be bond.

And yes the new 007 stars well in it as does the charactor Paloma

I honestly think after No Time to die Bond need resting or ending.

Bond comes from an era that's no longer representative of the UK.

A good decade will be able to reboot the franchise. Otherwise it should be left as it is.

The film's will always have new fans.

Well, that depends.

If you've got your stereotypical 'Bond' hat on, you'll be spitting feathers and screaming at what you've seen.

If you're prepared to take it off, you'll see a more expansive character that accepts his 'Alpha' sphere is a little bit smaller and 'grows' because of it.

I quite liked the attempt at that world.
