Boro Post Match thread

I wonder whether the FArce are gonna charge Boro with not controlling their players after the stonewall pen was given by the ref. The protests were far more vehement and involved more personnel that our 'lack of control' for which we received a FArce charge when Jimmy Avarice scored for the Dippers at The Etihad.

More likely to charge us. Leroy got booked for the penalty and subsequent protests.

Grim future for the club. Turns out the manager is " clueless, arrogant, the prem is too much for him to cope with, he ignores the youth setup, worst of all he ignores the advice from the fans. To cap it all he's fkn bald.....
What we need is RM back or MP or MH , not to mention NDJ, and JH.
We need "passion" not passing, nowt wrong with a bit of thuggery it's a contact game ffs
When did Silva last break someones leg. Kin lightweight.Sterling hardly ever gets a red card, no passion. KdB, having the most assists in the prem means fk all if you dont show "passion", when will he learn??
What we need is BFS, shawcross, charlie adam, skrtl, ramos, pepe, crouch (good feet for a big man) cattermole, shame about barton, he had " passion" , same goes andy morrison. Bellamy could be used as a mentor for the academy,he knew how to stir a game into life.
All this shit about possession being better than lumping it long can then be kicked into touch at last, the spanish duo need to go as well, charlatans if you ask me. Pep, listen to the fans, they dont want (deserve?)you , all the excuses about half the team knowing their contracts wont be renewed, the age of the squad, the atmosphere that is deafeningly missing, are just a smoke-screen, you have been out-coached by journey-man managers who "know the prem" .
F.F.S ......

Let's just ignore the litany of atrocious decisions that if given could have given this season a whole different complexion.

Football is about opinions and I'd be amazed if everyone agreed with every decision the manager makes - whoever he is.

However, anyone who can't see the improvement in performance this season in possession, distance covered, pressing and how we have dominated against our rivals without always ghetting the result we deserved needs to give their head a massive wobble.

I'm excited by the basis of what I have seen, and with some improvements in personnel the future is very, very exciting and I have no doubt we have the best manager in the world in charge.

We still have difficulty breaking down ten man defences, we did under Pellers, we did under Mancini. Why's that? Because it is difficult.

Those blues who 'seriously' question Guardiola's credentials after what he has achieved, well quite simply, there is no manager good enough for these people.

Khaldoon was in the MCC on Saturday.

His end of season review will be interesting after last years comments

yes it will but he will but will put us at rest and a vision for next season and dangle a golden carrot and hopes will be high again

at the start of the season a had a chat to a big united fan and both took off our tinted glasses and said united and jose will have a better season than pep. my thinking was based on jose having manage in the premier league before and pep being at manchester city will for the first time need to manage a team without the power of being a so called big club and things will not go our way and city just have not got the squad to fight for a long season

now i look at chelsea and conte my thinking blows me out of the water and gets me thinking about pep and what went wrong yes no champions league football or europe for chelsea is a big help but look at liverpool and they have not had european football and they are not blowing teams away so what been city/pep main talking point

well its easy to see and age and changes and injuries and red cards have cost pep and you have to hold your hands up and say its not good enough from pep. but he knows it better than anybody else and in that early interview the reporter said about winning all 4 competitions he held his head and that look and i knew from that moment city will struggle this season and city just need to get top 4 and work from there next season

the clean out in the summer and new signings and then the first 10 games next season will be pep's judgement and from then we can judge him. its been a free season for pep and no pressure from the board and only target was top 4 now if we don't get top for 4 for some mad reason and miss out then questions will be asked by the media and city and the fans will need to back pep and go again next season with a free run at the league and cups

there really isnt much wrong,we are dominating every team we play,

we are creating chances,we need full backs who can support attack and defence, and we need to put our chances away.even without david silva we created enough chances to beat arsenal, united and boro.

we deserved wins in the majority of our home games, chelsea, spurs, everton, southampton, liverpool and boro that's 12 extra points..

I'm not too down after this..I was feeling more down when Frank Clarke was in charge..Alan Ball was another down moment..actually I'm very happy.

Final ball is often shite is problem 1, bad finishing problem 2, & imo, most of our defenders (& keeper) are not good enough, is problem 3. I think 1 & 2 are easily solvable by Pep & tbh if he can't solve that, he should go. But problem 3 can only be solved in he transfer market & that's just a gamble.

If we wanted to play like Mourinho & just organised them into stoppers, behind a negative team formation, then they might become perfectly adept at keping clean sheets eventually, but if we are going to take the game to every team we play, we need extra special defenders imo & only Kompany fits that description & he is a veteran.

As we saw just for example v Chelsea home (Costa) Arsenal(Wellbeck) Everton (Lukaku) Monaco (Falcao) & again v Boro(Numpty), the way we play means people such as Otamendi & Stones are going to be 1v1, & it can happen v any opposition at any time. No matter how well Pep sets he team up, that will still happen next season & we have to deal with it, without it so often ending in a goal or goalscoring chance. We have not just been outpaced, we have also been stood up & beaten inside.

We have to find defenders who can prevent that from happening on most occasions.

Hilarious. How about playing a predominantly passing game but with passion and having it in our locker to go long if, for example, we have been passing it round for 80 minutes in front of a packed defence, getting absolutely nowhere. Why not as well as having a load of silky footballers, have the odd player who can get stuck in when other teams are kicking us off the park rather than relying on refs who invariably let them bully us? Why does it all have to be either or? Why does passing football have to mean ignoring lots of other facets of the game, why seemingly does attacking football mean we have to be terrible at defending? How about we bring a bit of balance to the table rather than have the people running the club telling us that we have a set way of playing as a matter of principle and that we cannot veer from that? I'd like us to focus on winning football matches rather than focusing on trying to impersonate Barca at all costs.

We are trying to win football matches. Just not trying to do it the same way as Mourinho for example tries to win football matches. Both managers want to win.

Mourinho, like Pep, is one of the most successful coaches ever, but also with a wealth of Premier League experience &, like Pep, has 100s of millions of quids worth of players, & he is struggling to win football matches. Yet he is as cynical & 'game management' focussed as it's possible to be. But they keep dropping points in spite of it.

Just because you want to win, doesn't mean you win.

We are trying to do something Mourinho etc can't do. He can't get at team to play fotball the way Pep has done.

If Pep can't do it, then he will evetually go & we will have to settle for being one team amongst five or six, buying players & hoping it works out, same as Utd, Chelsa, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool.

If he can do it, then the Premier league will have City plus four or five others trying to keep up with us.

This is our one chance, to try & build something better, than our opponents can build. we won't get another. If Pep fails, then the future is that we are in that pack of 6, for good.

I don't think either are pens to be fair, both of them played for the pen.

Still doesn't make up for the ones we didn't play for and dropped points though does it;-)

Easier for us to do what?
Score. Or at least it should. It certainly makes it easier to create chances. There is a very good reason why all the best clubs in the world are about possession. Even Dortmund and Monaco average over 50%. If our chance conversion ratio was anywhere near the level it should be then the possession would be the key factor in our incredible treble-winning season.
