Bournemouth Vs City Post Match Thread

Although not too much to do thought Willy did well with what he had to do, and his distribution was good. Also still think Mangala can do a job under Pep if he has the right partner and plays regularly. Think Kevin is going to become the poster boy next season.
With hart, Kompany and Aguero. We still have quality throughout the team. You need work to go with it. Doesn't matter how good technically you are, you have to play with intensity and desire. That's what we showed in the opening half hour.

Great win and good to see other teams around us dropping points. Four quality goals and no injuries. Just need scum to get beat today and it won't have been a bad weekend for us.

We looked a very different team because we played with an intensity in midfield that has been lacking for most of the season. You're right we have to repeat against better teams. But we have also been sitting ducks away from home for most of the season so to take a game by the scruff of the neck and have it done and dusted inside 20 minutes was a throw back to the City of recent seasons.
The second goal was brilliant for me. Can't remember the last time we put a move like that together and actually finished it. We've rarely played at that pace Marv you're right. Had we tried that hard in the Derby it would have been a different story.

I completely agree and I've said as much for a long time.

You saw the intent yesterday, the willingness to run off the ball, track runners and harry opposition players. Marry that with the obvious talent we have and its an easy game all of a sudden again.

Yes Pellegrini has got too many things wrong this season and is rightly going but so to have the players and yesterday showed they have more than enough in them regardless of the manager to dispense with sides easily when they want.

Exactly. I'm not suggesting Pellegrini is blameless, he isn't, but too often the players have unperformed, it's hugely frustrating, and as I say, maybe the manager should be more demanding.

To be successful we need to play high tempo.

First half was fantastic. Bournemouth could not cope with us. The second goal was a world class team goal. I hope it gets the credit it deserves.

Four different goal scorers, clean sheet & no injuries. A very good day.

DeBruyne back & outstanding. Glad your back Kevin.

Pick n choose knobheads decided yesterday was a day they wanted to turn it on. I'd love to know the stats for how much we ran yesterday in comparison to the derby.

Dead right - For me the game showed why Pellegrini (and some players) should hang their heads in shame for some of the performances this season. We do have very, very good players, but what makes the difference is how they begin games. Like the first 5 matches at the start, the away at Seville and yesterday for example those games were over in 20 minutes by starting with such high intensity. Teams can't live with that - too many times this year we have come out and we as fans know from the first 10 mins if we are going to be really on it. I don't know what the manager says to his team just prior to kick off but the way we have started many games it can't be that motivational! Hopefully the penny has dropped, and we can go on to win at least 5 more games to clinch CL qualification - incidentally am I right in thinking that under the new structure the players wages are boosted by finishing in the qualification places - that may just help.

Spot on about DeBruyne he showed why he cost 50m - top class.

Early goal mate and a game against a team that gave up immediately we got among them. Oh, and of course the sun was shining too....

That early goal point really fucks me off. The intensity WE play at shouldn't dissipate after 15/20 minutes just because we haven't scored a goal. That's what some of these pick and choose knobheads do. They'll give it a go until things get a bit tricky, then they'll go hiding. They won't get away with it after this season.

I sound like I wasn't happy with the win haha. I'm fucking made up with it. Just infuriates me how we turn it on/off at will regardless of the opposition.

Enjoy watching kev and dave play together it's a thing of beauty. Only spoiled by nasri's steve redmonds 80s style haircut. Kept giving me flash backs to 89 and was waiting for Andy hinchcliffe to push someone over
