Bournemouth Vs City Post Match Thread

Not that much different from the derby really. Don't remember the exact figures, but the top three runners averaged about 10.5 or 10.6 km. Relatively similar to the figures in previous games. Bournemouth ran about 1 km more than us.

Cheers, I'm really surprised by that. Then again maybe not because we were able to basically play the game at walking pace at times in the second half due to the scoreline.

Nah, if you really want to talk about turn-off time, they are fairly consistent. Regardless of the opposition and the situation, we usually tailed off at about 30-40 minutes in the first half. Don't know why.

Pick n choose knobheads decided yesterday was a day they wanted to turn it on. I'd love to know the stats for how much we ran yesterday in comparison to the derby.

I don't think it's even just about how far they run but about actually playing well with the ball. Yesterday they made things happen in the last third by delivering some quality when and where it counted.

It's just boring now going round in circles on why we don't have the points we need but I continue to believe there are numerous factors involved and whilst I think the manager is important and tactics and team selection etc are important, it is what the players do on the pitch that counts in the final analysis and ours have underperformed in ways that I think they are most accountable for. I also think it is self-evident that not having your best players available for long stretches is a major problem for this group.

What I found most amusing yesterday was the comments of both manager and KDB about how they needed to press high against Bournemouth; imagine that a specific tactical consideration regarding the nature of the opponent: I didn't think City did that sort of thing!

we should not be in a fight for 4th place THATS whats wrong
this squad of players are better than the team that won the premier league for the 2nd time. but the manager that knows he's out and is just going through the games we have left and let the players just walk around and there is not really a game plan for the games its just you play and you play and that's it

we been found out this season and the lack of cover up front means we are well down on goals this season. when we had the 4 strikers we could cover for letting in a goal or 2 but bony been miles off and not the answer the young lad Iheanacho was not given enough time on the field and when he played he was doing a great job but again the manager just does not give a shit
and letting the season slip after the league cup

I sometimes wonder whether with Pell & Mancini before him they would play on the fact they were foreign ie not explain in clear English to try and deflect from the question.
Yep I can definately run with that.

If City pull this one off it will be joke of the decade. I don't actually think we will do it but i won't believe we can't till its over. Over to Southampton tomorrow. Leicester haven't cracked once yet. Vardy is in fine form. Spurs slowed slightly today. Its nice City have the Champions league to break up the week & take their mind off all the PL hype.

Oh for god's sake - stop being so bloody negative.
And if my geography is any good - they are always on the beach.

It's not being negative, it's telling the truth.

It's fucking ridiculous the censorship employed on this forum, for not towing the line of opinion. I was eventually barred from the match thread for criticising City's defending, about 30 mins after I'd said it. Basically for replying to posts like this, telling me not to have the wrong opinion! Not for breaking the code, just for replying to people attempting to censor the thread.

I've said several times that we attacked well. The defence was rubbish. That's what I saw. People are now making out that we somehow worked much harder than last week! Did we fuck. We had DeBruyne who is younger than Yaya, & actually plays that position & our opposition weren't very good, even by rag standards.

We weren't actually the Engilsh Bayern Munich, just much better in attack than last week. The rest, the same.

A good win and shows what we have been missing in Kevin.
When you factor in all our injuries, bent refs and our manager it's a bloody miracle we are 4th,have a cup and in the CL last eight. Next year we'll fucking be flying. Can't wait.
