The problem with splitting up gently/pleasantly is it leaves the door ajar for pissed up sex with the ex. Eventually this leads to someone getting shit on so you might as well get shitting straight away.

Awkward & uncomfortable but healthy for all involved. I've dated plenty and even when it hurt others, the honest approach always paid dividends in the long run for everyone

I havent had to split up with a girl for probably 17/18 years and back then they were just casual relationships and i probably didnt really give a shit. Still think back to the time i told a girl i was going to America to work so we had to break up and then she collared me a few weeks later in a club. Me and my mates still laugh to this day. Im a bit more grown up now though so hopefully i never have to do it again.
