Not deluded. Yes, a poor performance, but we weren’t beaten by the better team. Brentford would’ve bitten our hand off for a draw at any point. We had the control of the game to win it, in the end we should’ve called it a day and taken the point.

They had far more good chances than we did.

Pep is of course a genius, but his use of subs is odd. Tends to use them when a game is already won, to give someone a rest. Doesn't seem to bring them on when his starting lineup is obviously struggling. There's a bit of misplaced stubbornness & obstinacy there which costs us now and again ?

None of Akanji, Laporte nor Rodri could stop Toney either flicking the ball on or holding the ball up, it’s how they got up the pitch so regularly.

Had Stones not played Toney onside, the goal doesn’t stand even if Akanji misses his header.

I doubt Akanji has ever played many teams that do that in his career.

Brentford used throwback physical tactics as the ref had decided on a high bar for fouls.

The only way most teams in this league beat us is to put 9 men in front of their box and hit us on the break. Most times it doesn't work but today it did. Shit happens.

They created far more goal scoring chances than us, set up to play us and played to the plan, how did they get lucky? You don't win games by having more possession but creating fuck all, they did deserve to win the game and they did win the game

Nothing to do with VAR or refs....

If you cant be sure you cant give it....and you couldnt tell where the handball was over/on the line or not fromthe angles
none of the supposed fouls were penalties
Cancellos dive was a disrgace
Brentford deserved that and we were awful - especially the performances of Stoens and Cancello

I agree. Our players diving is not a good look. I hate it when it another team doing it, and I hate when we do it.

Having no protection doesn’t mean hiding or not getting physical with the opposition , don’t think we won a single header in the first half , the whole back four shit themselves, in fact they didn’t even bother challenging in the second half , Brentford’s forward line had the freedom of the pitch , they should be embarrassed.

Not that it mattered on how we played today as never looked like scoring, but Laporte was down for 7 minutes, we had the linesman have to change his equipment so thats about 8.5 minutes in total plus blatant time wasting throughout and only 10 minutes added on, so take the 2 incidents away, less than 2 minutes added on where the usual is 4 to 5
