Brian Kidd

Where's the MEN campaign to get Kiddo recognition for his services to Manchester (and surrounding area) football? You look at some of the twats who get awards (Beckham etc) and yet here is a man who has made a huge contribution to this City and shows no sign of slowing down.

Played for both sides, coached both sides to league titles and numerous other trophies. Surely no one is a bigger legend in Manchester football?

Sir Brian!

I live near to Hull and their main road into the city is called 'Clive Sullivan Way' after a Rugby league player who played for both Hull clubs.

There is also the 'Brian Clough Way' which is the road that connects Derby and Nottingham.

I would propose that the Mancunian Way be renamed to Brian Kidd way to commemorate his terrific service at both Manchester clubs.

It might happen, actually, but only after he's retired, as is the way with these things.

Fantastic idea!

Na, not Mancunian Way. Maybe Exchange Square? Then he'd have a tram stop named after him too!

At minimum, freedom of the city.

You would think the Rags would recognise him more than they do especially with his goal in the European cup final and the way they fete other members of that team eg Law Stiles etc, plus he helped them to there breakthrough title in 93 as coach

I met Brian when he was a City Player in 1978, he was a true gent, and very down to earth... one of the good guys.

Mancunian Way might be a good call - as it runs between Regent Road ? and PinMill Brow ? - I think. One end the Swamp and the other end Gods country.

If you were travelling between the swamp and the Etihad, you'd almost certainly use it.
