Bridge to Sunderland on loan (updated)

Re: Wayne Bridge have you no shame

I hope to god he goes on loan.

But anyone who is bitter at him is misplacing their anger. Sure what he is doing lacks honour, but who the hell gave him that contract in the first place? I don't have a problem with us signing him in the first place - it was a good signing for where we were at - but why did we give him a contract that would price him out of any future move. His contract is so overvalued that any new contract with another club would at least halve his wages, who would take the kind of cut? Maybe if it was a 10% drop, but half? Garry Cook did a lot of good things for city, but he let Hughes go bat-shit crazy. Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy, Santa Cruz and Bridge were all signings that Hughes made, but who negotiated their deals? AND now we can't get rid of any of them with out paying them off (Bellamy), or taking a massive loss on the transfer and that's if we're lucky.

Possibly Tevez aside we paid way over the odds for each of those at the time and on top of that gave them contracts that were years too long given their history, age and situation at the time.

Of course despite his baggage and 4 year old mentality nobody including us would have thought he would walk out never to return after two seasons despite asking for two transfers but perhaps again we should have made it a three year deal with him as well.

ie 5 year deals when they should have 2 or at most three.

We had the funds so we had few parameters to deal with and the sending clubs took us to the cleaners and you can add Jo and Robby to that list as well.

Wayne Bridge will end his Manchester City misery by signing for Sunderland on deadline day.

Martin O’Neill set up a deal for the former England left back to go on loan to the Stadium of Light until the end of the season.

I rest my case..............

great news and if he leaves all the best to him!
