Brighton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

You've dug the hole, now can we bury this nonsense?

Four minutes were indicated to be added. That was shown on 90 minutes so may have included the one minute March had already been injured.

You don't add "added time" twice (to normal time and to added time) when added time hasn't actually started. He could have been 10 minutes getting treated after 90 mins were up and there wouid still only be 4 minutes to be played after the restart.

Can we have a "doh" please?

Or is this the best Clarkie for a long time?
Sorry you are completely wrong, not going to explain it again.

Did you get your maths GCE?

The 4 minutes was displayed prior to the stoppage for the injury which took another 4 minutes to resolve. So now we have 8 minutes to add (4 + 4), the game restarted at 94 minutes on the clock.

Simple maths 94 + 8 = 102, the big lump blew before the clock hit 100.

P.S. As pointed out, what about the sending off. Should have added time for that as well.
Turing lives.

Best we've played for ages ,rodri and stones make a massive difference they aren't a bad team but thought we made it look easy enough? Up the Blues.
What time did you leave?

The team (and we fans) seemed desperately flat in the second half. Even our row's resident cheerleader / moaner seemed stunned into silence (and others just saying it was boring).

Energy conservation is one thing, but ceding the initiative means having to expend more energy. And we've been in total control of games and lost. Not often though.

Some of Brighton's play was "just like watching City" and if two teams trying to play Pepball is boring, I'd take that over teams with 10 behind the ball and relying on lucky breakaways.

That's how I saw it as well, 90+4+injury 4 from 90-94, plus 1 red card and substitution.
Imagine we were over 90 minutes and already in 4 mins added time. The injury happens on 91 minutes with 3 minutes left. Play is stopped for 4 minutes. You restart on 95 minutes. There's still only 3 minutes left. The match ends at 98. You've had the original 4 minutes AND the 4 minutes for the injury.

If there are 10 seconds left and a player is injured for 10 minutes, how long should the referee add when play restarts? 10 minutes or 10 seconds?

Thought we were very good, took out foot off the gas a little and they took advantage, but despite ten men we closed the game down very well. Very high work rate, back to winning ways, what's not to like.

Still searching for that ruthlessness, after two we could have pushed for that third and tucked the game away, but didn't. Would love Kev back but I am starting to wonder if we need one more playmaker even with him back.

But the most pleasing things for me, asides from stones and rodri back, are that Haaland scored and Doku looks like adding the end product to his game is achievable.

I won't speak too much about the referee. I won't say that he got things wrong in terms of bookings although the stats do look very odd, and my feeling is that he did evidently apply different interpretations of fouls to us and them. Doku and Foden both got a few whacks without cards being shown, milner should have been booked and yet again is not, and that Igor escaped a yellow then got one 5 minutes later for a less severe challenge, so if the ref had applied the same rules to both we'd have been playing ten men for the last half an hour rather than down to ten ourselves.

But we still win, as pep says nobody gave us anything, we did it ourselves.

If a brick weighs 7 pounds plus half a brick, what does a brick and a half weigh?

(Looks like only maths problems are going to keep the thread going.)
