Brighton (H) | Post Match Thread

Rated 1-5. 1 is a home game against a relegation candidate, 5 away to a top four team. I’ve put their Everton game as a 2 as a derby.

Us: Watford (H) 1, Leeds (A) 3, Newcastle (H) 3, West Ham (A) 4, Aston Villa (H) 2. TBD: Wolves (A) 3
Total: 16

Them: Everton (H) 2, Newcastle United (A) 4, Tottenham (H) 4, Aston Villa (A) 3, Southampton (A) 4, Wolves (H) 2
Total: 19

They have tough aways at Newcastle and Southampton, and home to Spurs. Our toughest game is away to West Ham.
Our 3 away matches are in my opinion tougher than theirs, just my opinion. Leeds and Wolves away are no pushovers, they will have to have an off day to lose any of their games.

I have have this weird feeling that Everton might take something.

I never fancied Rags to take anything last night. They really are woeful, never seen such a bad Rag side in my lifetime.

Derbies though are one off games. We know only too well.

Evertonians get the added bonus of fucking up their neighbors Title challenge. As well as a Derby draw/win.
I hope you are right, but I fear the Toffee’s are in for a good spanking.

Name names? how long have you got?

Absolute joke, almost everyone was bottling it. I keep saying it, but if the lack of confidence spills over to the team we could be in trouble. Even now some are saying the players looked nervous in the first half but I didn't think they did at all. We were totally in control and it was just a matter of time before we started the scoring, and it was just a matter of how many we'd get.

Anfield was buzzing last night, tonight our fans looked worried to death, but not the players. Why can't we just enjoy? If we lose we go again next year, hopefully with Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
No wonder we didn't score in the first half if the players were reading the matchday thread

As for Klanfield's atmosphere
A big game vs a relatively local rival who brought a large following
Scored an early goal
The exact same happened when we played the rags

Seems a bit arbitrary. You have away at Wolves as a 3 but the dippers away at Southampton as a 4. I'd say Wolves is a tougher game.

I think we have our toughest fixtures away, whereas they seem to have their strongest opponents. mainly at home. Pretty even fixture list really and both sides would expect to win all of those games under normal circumstances.
Fair enough, it is arbitrary, but we both play Wolves and Southampton so makes little difference to the overall ranking. Southampton have drawn a lot of games but are tough to beat. Agree not much in it, but I think ours are marginally better.

Their next five are all testers in different ways, while we’ve got a couple of home games that should be easier. They all need winning, of course.

Both teams expect to win every game, but this season both teams have dropped points in 25% of their games.

Nothing wrong with hope mate, optimists recover from the little set backs quickly. I’ll be cheering Everton on. I’d settle for some realism in the match thread. We’re top of the league and some have convinced themselves we’re out of it.

Usually I’d agree but Everton are even more shit than United.

Thought last night was a good game

Atmosphere was a bit edgy at first but we then calmed down when we seen the determination of the team, particularly Kev and Bernie. Loved the City don't worry song as did my lad who was singing it on way home in car.

Cancelo starting RB then LB then RB again proved what an exceptional player he is.

Hope Stones is ok, he seemed to hold his top of his leg so hope not hamstring as he his priority player for these last few weeks.

Confident with this team and manager but also old school Cityitus creeps in now and again

That's an interesting point/stat - in fact dippers, to-date, have dropped points in 28% of games.
But not for a while, so we just need to keep our heads and get our own games done.
