Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

All panic doom and gloom aside we'll get it right eventually, it's only a matter of time. I'd have been a lot more worried if this spell would have happened after the club had expunged half of the legacy fanbase and there wouldn't have been anyone left to fill in the gaps.

Well you will get your wish when we play Utd Napoli and Arsenal within 7 days. After those 3 games we really will get a chance to assess the current shitshow.

Most telling thing from yesterday was Rodri’s interview. He knows how far standards have slipped and that some of the team are miles off being good enough
Yep it was very telling

He's been so bad it's unreal. He's literally offering nothing. When I watched that 2nd goal back yesterday I was absolutely fuming. How can he jog back like that. I can't get my head around he just got a new contract. Also when he came on we look so disjointed at the back.
I can only hope he isn’t fully fit. I know he shouldn’t play if not 100% but going at half speed to get back suggests not fit?

I don't understand why we don't seem to kick on after getting our noses in front, why is there not more urgency to get a second goal? its as plain as your nose on your face that if/when they got an equaliser then they would win the game - and you can't legislate for lucky/stupid handballs in the box, these things happen, often. what were we doing for the 30 minutes after we scored? f**k knows.....

Because no matter the score our gameplan doesn't change. We play the exact same if 1 down or 5 nil up and that is the biggest problem from Pep. The slow boring build up isn't the way to go when you can smell blood from a team whilst one up, it is also not the way to go when chasing a game either but we seen it both winning and losing. I imagine it is then hard for the players to kick on and go up a gear when instructed to play so passively to begin with

Anywayss now the dust has settled I’d like to share this photo of my son. I mentioned he was mascot for the game yesterday with the only downside being he was a Brighton one!

At least this meant he got to shake all the city players hands! Before the game he was able to get high fives from all the city players and even got one from pep.

But the highlight came when the teams came out and he walked across to shake his heroes hand. His face says it all.

A day he will never forget.

As many have said already it's too new a team we're playing with now. They don't know each other yet on the field of play and it could take a long time to gel. Time we don't have unfortunately because of a shit last season, a season where if we'd won a trophy of some sort the pressure would've been off a bit. I don't think our owners will settle for another mediocre season therefore I'll be amazed if Pep sees this season out
The next derby could be El sackio, Amorim is on dodgy ground if we batter them the knives will be out but likewise if we roll over then questions will have to be asked about Pep. Like everyone we all appreciate what he’s done but he comes out with the same old shit very press conference, he said he’s not changing his philosophy well we’ve slagged Amorim off for not playing a style to suit the players he’s got, the same could be said of Pep, we are levels off what he needs in fact I’d say worse than his first season. Anyone expecting anything different next week is sadly mistaken all the players will not be back until a few days before the derby and I guarantee Stones and Rodri come back with knocks to rule them out, both those players should be nowhere near international games at this time anyway.

its very bad that likes of Hurzeler can do this to Pep within about 35mins.

and once shit happens we dont look like responding. Spurs scored and then what they wanted to happen is what happened. Brighton scored the pen and it was matter of time for them to score again and us going up 2-1 wasnt even in the air.

yet Liverpool had three games where they were not winning with last 10 mins to go and won all three. when we are not winning last 10 mins there is no desire to go for the winner. quite the opposite actually.

We seem to forget the lack of pre season for the players at times and it is showing.

People wanting Pep sacked, really? Is this what we have become? If Pep goes now what will happen? Do we become like them lot over in Trafford bouncing from manager to manager in the hope of past success?

We do not have a defined right to win every game, maybe Pep’s best years are behind him - they probably are but I’d rather he be given time to at least get us into decent shape over the next year and have a planned transition to exit rather than sack him now and all hell break lose.

We are 3 games into a season, 3! The media has us all so whipped up about things that happen in such a short shape of time these days and don’t wait for things to pan out. Let’s see where we are in 10/15 games time, and if we are shit then - well we have been through it before and it is part of the fun being a blue.

Think Brighton got inspiration from last year they were awful till 4 subs and nothing to lose energy and effort fortunate pen / poor defending and game changed you could see us sleep walking into it . Atrocious from players attitudes

It wasnt a tactical masterpiece he basically saw City flagging, no preseason, had nothing to loose so he put 4 subs on fresh legs and got lucky, credit to him for trying something, with the pen. Pep made the strangest decision to put Rico on and not Nico maybe a slip of the pen on the first letter :-D We then lost control and Kush got a knock leaving no pace to recover from dare I say it? another John Stones cock up, got away with one in the first half, looks a shadow of his former self maybe its lack of games?

Happens every year if I remember rightly and then guess what, we go on a run and detroy all that lays before us, or something like that. 3 Games. stop flapping.
