Bring Back Joe Hart

Or, the genius of Pep is a massive fraud. If he needs only the best 11 players in the world for his systems to work, then he's not even a decent coach, but a genius at FIFA and Football Manager at best. I'm sorry, but the way we were picked apart both by Leicester and Chelsea shows that his current ideas do not work, at least not in the PL. We've won the league twice with half of our current squad playing, now suddenly we need to spend even more money for it to work?? More worryingly, he doesn't seem to be able to react and adapt during a game, which reminds me of Pellegrini.

Yes but they are a little older now
Doesn't adapt during a game? Yeah right, he's constantly changing the make-up

Back 5 needs a fucking kick up their arse. The keeper makes the back 4/3 nervous, also swapping and changing doesn't help. Joe Hart is a good keeper and he did a job for us. I got so frustrated with him at times and know that Pep has done the correct thing. I think is a knee jerk reaction at the min and doesn't help with the media and pundits getting on our keepers back. He's not the answer and I won't be surprised if Pep will make some major changes in the defence. I think we where all expecting this honeymoon period to keep on going but the fact of the matter is this is still a pelle team, the bubble was bound to burst and I can see the lazy attitue in the players coming back. If this is still the case in 18 months then I will start to worry.

Pep categorically says that he's not a manager he's a coach.

It's his responsibility ( and claim to fame )to coach improvements in performance and attitude into some of footballs finest players.

So far I'm rather underwhelmed. He sacked a very competent, experienced goal keeper & leader for a substantial down grade and I'm struggling to name one player who is demonstrably better now as a result of Pep's coaching than before.....including Sterling.

There is a real danger that Pep believes he can repeat his 'alchemy'from Barca & Munich at City and that he can approach games in the PL in the same manner as in Spain & Germany. Well Zabba is not Pillip Lahm & Leicester are not Ossasuna !!

The chaotic selection, structure & tactics on Saturday was astonishing given that he says he studies his opponents for a minimum of six hours and then discusses options with his coaches. To do what he subsequently did smacks of ignorance, arrogance & naivety.

Conte learnt quickly from the defeat at Arse, they were 8 points behind us then, they're 8 points ahead now !! Will Pep "learn more from defeat than I do from success ". I guess we are about to find out. I sincerely hope we've not got the new Villa Boas,a good young coach who wouldn't change his beliefs, lost 2 dressing rooms and is now on the margins of top football.

Time to get back to basics & circle the wagons before the league is lost. CTID !!

It won't happen - and to be fair Joe wouldn't do any better with the shit going on in front of him. Plus we wouldn't be playing some of our better attacking football with Joe in net.

For me I was frustrated with Joe for nearly 2 seasons, his distribution decision making was shocking.

Sort the middle and defence out and we may not be having that many issues with Bravo

Quite. It's amazing that people forget the frustration at Hart for his distribution and speed of decision making. All of a sudden, now he's gone, he's up there with Neuer.

We would as Bravo has this inability to actually save a football.

I love and respect Pep and couldn't be happier that he is here.

However, moving Hart on and bringing in Bravo is something I so very disagree with........ why Pep why?

The problem is that our defensive lapses with a high line lead directly to running shots or one-on-one opportunities against our keeper - the thing that Joe did best and Bravo can barely do at all.
It was actually no different last season, where Joe had to deal with an average of about 1.5 such opportunities every game.
Joe saved (or caused the striker to miss) 2 out of 3 such opportunities by running out quickly, narrowing the angle and making himself big and getting a hand, arm, leg, foot or body on the ball. He generally got somthing on the ball (as per Torino/Juventus on Sunday) even if the ball went in.
Bravo has saved about 1 in 5 such opportunities this season. Frankly he may as well not be there.
Joe had other problems and probably needed to be replaced, but to replace him with a Keeper who is most vulnerable to the very type of chance we will give away is crazy.
