If Brown had been voted upon for being ugly he would have lost his deposit.

The voters of this country have more brains than you give them credit for. As much as I also thought that the TV leader debates could swing it, it is quite obvious that they didn't in any substantial way. And that is good.

But what has been said is that the majority of voters in this country do not want Brown or his party. As a lifelong Socialist that is not easy for me to say, but this party is NOT Socialist. They are a power mad elite that will continue to encroach on anything and everything that smacks of inviting Central Party meddling.

They have spent MILLIONS on crap. Absolute crap.Quangos that are shite and Health and Safety matters that are beyond ludicrous.
Why should the working man PAY to gain more and more certificates just in order to ply their trade?

It is a nasty joke now, and needs to stop.

Excellent post mackenzie, you did miss out though that labour have basically turned the UK into a police state. Cameras everywhere, I.D. cards (wanted), trackers in all cars (wanted), keeping innocent peoples DNA on record, Increasing detention of terrorist suspects, loads of new powers for the police, Chips in your bleeding wheelie bins ffs. The worst thing about all that though and many Labour policies imo. Is the same MP that brought all those things in are the same people that fought like fuck to stop the Tories bringing those policies in, in the first place.

Worse tbh - I don't think in her wildest dreams even Thatcher would have thought she could have got away with ID cards, biometric data storage, 42-day detention etc. It's the misconstruing of this lot as some sort of left wingers that gives the left wing a bad name!

Re: Brown to stand down

Events in London are now reminding me of something like speed dating.

ID cards for football fans to treat them like crminals was Thatcher policy.

True but the idea never got of the ground. Under Labour though millions have been wasted trying to force that shit on us.

Re: Brown to stand down

Good to hear that some Labour MP's are now voicing their concerns over the lack of consultation from the leaders of the Party.

Mandelson is unelected and yet he is there at the centre of negotiation and strategy. That shouldn't be allowed to happen again, whichever party it is.

They come in usefull for buying beer though, some people aren't allowed to have passports and driving licences. The footy ID Cards were real big brother stuff and there were protests over a long period of time before they were dropped.

Re: Brown to stand down

From Bluemoon's correspondent on the spot:

I'm in Westminster and there has been a big increase in the level of activity, with helicopters in the air over Parliament and Downing Street. I suspect Brown is about to go to the Palace and resign as PM.
