From Bluemoon's correspondent on the spot:

I'm in Westminster and there has been a big increase in the level of activity, with helicopters in the air over Parliament and Downing Street. I suspect Brown is about to go to the Palace and resign as PM.

I think you're right; Adam Boulton is practically jizzing in his pants with excitement.

True but the idea never got of the ground. Under Labour though millions have been wasted trying to force that shit on us.

They come in usefull for buying beer though, some people aren't allowed to have passports and driving licences. The footy ID Cards were real big brother stuff and there were protests over a long period of time before they were dropped.

Compared to what Labour wanted/have done thats nothing. One of the worse ones is Labour wanted to scrap road tax and a fit a tracker to your car so they know everywhere you go. They dressed that all up under the guise that is was to do with reducing Co2 emissions and saving the environment bollocks.

Now since that got well and truly fucked off as people where doing there nut over it. The sneaky bastards are now testing a satellite on the QT that tracks every single car journey in the UK. So it never had anything to do with reducing CO2 emissions it was just about knowing what everyone was doing all the time.

BTW the above isn't a mad conspiracy either mate its 100% truth as there was a whole piece about it on the BBC working lunch show. They had a representative from the company on the show touting for business and bragging how the UK government was the first country in the world to set up a partnership with his company.

Worse tbh - I don't think in her wildest dreams even Thatcher would have thought she could have got away with ID cards, biometric data storage, 42-day detention etc. It's the misconstruing of this lot as some sort of left wingers that gives the left wing a bad name!

ID cards for football fans to treat them like crminals was Thatcher policy.

Look up Internment in N.I. my uncle and his friends were locked up ,no charges, for being young Irish and Catholic . They were in jail for 3 months+ .
The misuse of the police forces during the miners strikes .
All politicians work for themselves, not us Plebs,Plebites whatever they call us these days.

Re: Brown to stand down

Rumours abound that Caroline Lucas the Green MP is attempting to become PM supported by Third Party Fire and Theft and the 21st birthday party that the lad who lives round the corner from her in Brighton is holding on Saturday night.

I know internment, it was always the wrong people locked up as anyone who had done anything made themselves scarce.

Shame you're not still around Dan. Could get some inside information.

I know, I'm gutted! An old colleague has told me that though that Brown is about to quit, also due to the Lib-Lab talks breaking down it would come as no surprise me thinks.

Yeah, but that was for one, already demonised section of society, same as she got away with the rights abuses in Northern Ireland. To try and foist it on everyone overnight - she never tried that like Labour did. Amazing. And last time I did anything on it there was a CCTV camera for about every 14 people in the UK. That was about 2.5 years ago, so it's probably gone up. There's a doctor for every 400.

The Government does not decide things like CCTV cameras in your area/town etc. It is often local residents who want them.
