Sure he is...That's my point, Forget trying to find a cover player for Rodri because there is no one out there, Pep has to learn and adapt without him, Phillips was not the answer and Bruno-Guimaraes is also not the answer, John Stones is the best at slotting in with a inverted fullback,

He isn't a £100 million player but that's what it's going to take to get him and he fits all our needs in midfield.
He gives us the rodri alternative when he cant play or needs a rest as a solo 6 and he can play alongside him as the double 6 or even as an 8. Signing just him and not losing anybody sorts out our midfield and gives us plenty of options. Hopefully pep drops the idea of a 6 and two 10's that is too unbalanced and we regularly see two from rodri kovacic and bruno, with Bernardo and lewis also options. That's a great central midfield.
Maybe there's a cheaper option and possibly even a better one out there somewhere but regardless, it would be £100 million smartly spent imo.

Guimaraes wouldn't be a Rodri back-up, he'd play next to him.
