Palhinha is just as good despite playing for Fulham. The Valencia player is a good alternative too.

Paulinha is poor at passing. He’s a NDJ type destroyer that we don’t need anymore.

If he was available, we would be all over him. They just got Vinny as their manager, so no way in hell a player like Musiala leaves them now. He will wait to see how Vinny does, and he will probably do extremely well.

We are not a charity, and no player "deserves to play." We need our players to perform at the highest of levels. We currently don't have anybody to take the weight off Rodri, so we need to sign someone. Kova will play plenty like he did this season. Lewis will have to work his ass off to improve because if he doesn't, a loan awaits. Same goes for Nunes, but in his case, it might be a permanent sale if he doesn't step it up. I would be tempted to play him more as a RW, though.

Teams are catching up to us, and Real Madrid just signed Mbappe. Time to step it up with the battle-tested players like Bruno G.

Doesn't really matter as we have plenty passers and attacking threat already in the side. Just need that defensive cover and physical presence when Rodri is out. The Valencia player would be better suited as he is still young.

Which player do we miss more Gundogan or Mharez. If your answer is Gundogan as mine is then we need Guimaraes most. As for Kovacic, we’d have 3 players to rotate 2 positions with Lewis getting games too. We certainly can’t go with just Kovacic and Rodri again.

Rodri is underrated forward, but people are missing how good Guimaraes is more forward too, mainly because Newcastle used him more defensively.

I can see Rodri scoring +/- 15 goals with Bruno next to him. Bruno scores quite a lot for his position as well. We need more goals Yaya-style, and they would come from these 2. As much as I like Kova, he doesn't really score much at all.

He is still press resistant for that and he does help with stopping counter attacks. The issue is he dives in and his disciplinary record.

He’s a NDJ clone. Fan favourite, but not necessary in our current team. Just like Zabba.

Gundogan is the antithesis and doesn’t sprint round, diving in and getting angry. He uses his brain and puts out fires before they happen. That’s why fans took longer to warm to him.

Fans love a player that gives their all alongside pacy wingers. It’s in the English footballing DNA.

I speak regularly with a couple of newcastle fans both season ticket holders and independently they have both said his biggest asset is always being available to receive the ball in space all over the pitch, and keep the ball moving. Building from the back through the pitch he always appears in in good positions.
The older one of the two compared him to Martin Peters, before my time but google tells me he was known as the ghost always ghosting into space unnoticed.
I asume most of us on here have only seen him playing us when they have little possession or bits on TV where you don’t see his off the ball movement, I trust both these geordie season ticket holders as both being very knowledgeable.

Hope we get this done. Brings something extra to the team, and I also think a trio of Rodri, Bruno, and Kova would keep everyone fresh and help prevent wear and tear as the season goes on. Poor Rodri could finally get a rest.

They also bring different strengths so Pep could tweak based on matchup.
