Bruno Guimaraes

So now the same Newcastle lad who posted it has now said the clause hasn’t been triggered, imagine my shock. We don’t have the appetite to do another £100m transfer imo

We will if Pep wants him. I think that meeting this week will be what kick starts our summer plans. If Pep says he wants to resign , then I reckon Bruno comes in quickly followed by his other targets.

I think that’s the angle Khaldoon will go for as well mate? These are the players you want so let’s sign and extension and go shopping

It isn't fear., we have a strategy of not overpaying our values, and relying on players wanting to play for us.A strategy that's worked.

But the way that football is going now mate and the level we are at to keeping pushing on and dare I say try and improve it’s £100m plus transfers now that will do that? That’s the territory we are in now?

Or we are negotiating knowing we can trigger it on the final day of June if needed

I’m not an expert on £100m transfers but I’m guessing they aren’t straight forward

The odd transfer may be around £100mill, we may pay it if we want Guimaraes, but clubs can't afford many transfers at that price. Most clubs can't afford any at that price maybe 4 or 5 clubs can, though I can only think of 4, Us, PSG possibly, Madrid but they've already splurged theirs on Mbappe, and Arsenal but probably not now they've done it on Rice.

George from Wales "Bruno G isn't joining Manchester City"

Alan from Newcastle "I've heard Bruno G is joining Manchester City"

Sally from Stoke "Bruno G release clause has been triggered"

Stevo from Dublin Newcastle supporters club "I've heard Bruno G is signing a new contract"

FUCK OFF!

if i was to choose between either Luiz for £42m, or Bruno G for £100m, id pick Luiz. But either way, both underwhelming transfers imo
I 'd pick the best player if I could afford both, which is Guimaraes. If the club are happy paying the money so am I.Not underwhelmed by either though.

We will be looking at a wide range of options at the same time with a budget in mind. We have always favoured release clauses to give us certainty on what we spend but it could be a case where £100m on one player is possible if we can get deals on other options at the same time, and we're waiting to see how things progress on those. Who knows. I don't think the club will hesitate in spending the money if we really want him. But payment terms will be important too. When his release clause expires is he going to cost more or less?

This is interesting - "Clubs have until what is believed to be Monday June 24, just another 11 days, to meet a £100m release clause in the contract Bruno signed last year. After that date the power will rest with Newcastle should any offers come in later in the transfer window."

Always thought the deadline was June 30th

Yeah that’s what I think, but if Pep decides not too sign , our clubs so well run they will probably know who they want as a replacement already, wouldn’t be surprised to see , players signed this summer not for Pep but the next manager.

At the moment though unless a few leave we only really want 2,seems Savio is one. As for a CM doubt it matters whether we buy for Pep or the next manager our CM target will be the same player.Thats pretty much the clubs whole philosophy.
