BT Sport about to snatch the CL off Sky/ITV?

BT have announced they will have free to air matches of both competitions, so hopefully they will still have at least one match for all to see per round of games

I prefer BT coverage except for owen and if it means no more tyler sneering his way through our games then even better
I dont see how taking Champions League football from 100% of the country to 14% of the country is a good thing even if we did have to listen to Clive and his glorious wank in Barcelona.
People will not sign up to BT for the CL and 38 PL games a season. Sky have been going 20 years and have a far superior program line up overall and have just over 10 million people. They only had 500,000 people sign up before the free BT Sports with broadband deal. Everyone can hate what they want and on bluemoon its Sky but it also being taken away from the people who just have freeview

This would leave BT with all C/L,,I think Europa too, and FA cup and one P/L package. Sky would be left with 3 P/L packages if BT take another Premier League package next time it would leave them as the main football broadcaster.
The advantage they have is as well as subscribers they have the more means to provide games on a one off pay /veiw or free to air to non subscribers that Sky don't have. Mainly because they can use either broadband or their channels on freeveiw and youveiw.
Think also they are more likely to strike deals with the BBC than ITV as well.

Not arsed, Sky have had things their own way too long, ITV rarely show us and are the worst rag sycophants around imo. Down the pub as usual for the bigger games and there will be some to free air anyway.

ITV are in the tow of their advertisers and as we play on the same night it does affect our exposure

Hopefully with us having a partnership with BT Sport this will improve

The major problem Sky has is its infrastructure, it doesn't have one, it will not be cost effective to use satellites to broadcast TV eventually and they have nothing else in place, they use BT's lines etc for there broadband, phone lines...the future will be BT and Virgin...And Sky are caught in the middle with know where to go

How do you think Virgin get there cable shows??
Down a cable....via Sky and it's satellites granted...but Virgin have an infrastructure in place to go with whoever the big player will be at the time, if Sky get taken off their perch as the TV big boys they have nothing....BT on the other hand are as big an organisation as Sky, just as wealthy, have their own infrastructure and now have TV Chanel's to boot.....which for me puts Sky in a very precarious position for the future

Not sure why everyone jumping to the conclusion that it's more expensive, before they actually release any prices.

BT have clearly stated they will charge less than Sky do now.

You're looking at a Max of £10/month for BT Broadband subscribers.

Sky cannot justify raising their prices and will probably have to lower them to compete.

whens the next prem deal up for grabs,i couldn't see sky letting prem rights go to bt or skys business model would go bust.prem football is the most attractive part of the whole package

Plus it might make people buy a ticket to our champions league games. Don't seem to be popular for you cheapskates.

I know many on here don't like him/ them but Tyler with Neville or Quinn is a far superior listen than Darke and Owen!

I really hope BT manage to get the best of SKY's pundits because at the moment like I have said in previous comments BT's presenters and pundits haven't a patch on SKY if you ask me!

I respect Darke as a commentator but he isn't anywhere near Tyler in creating iconic commentary moments.

Then again I must say I am pretty new to Darke's commentary but so far he isn't as good as Tyler, even if Tyler can sound snide towards City!
