They have too change their badge, which currently looks like the RED BULL logo, they have to make changes in the management, currently only people related to RED BULL, and they have to allow ordinary club members.

Seeing as the club's goal is 1. Liga football, I think they'll make the necessary changes. Great news for Leipzig, just a shame I don't live there anymore!

Nice video, but I don't understand the point you're trying to prove.

Just don't like how red bull takeover clubs and change their whole identity like they did with Austria Salzburg and attempted to do with Sachsen Leipzig.

You're not the only one. However, this is hardly a new phenomenon in the world of football, is it?

Doesn't make it right or any better, does it?

Great day for modern football ;-)

It is not true. It is the first time in germany, that a football club was founded just to sell a product. That is really a new thing and i hope it is not the future of football.

You say you don't like it, but give no reasons. Almost every football club has changed its identity at some point. What makes Red Bull so different to others?

Possibly true that it's the first time in Germany, but I am yet to hear a plausible explanation from any German fan of a 'Traditionsverein' as to why it's perfectly acceptable for Bayer to use Leverkusen, and earlier, Uerdingen, as a vehicle to promote itself. Or indeed, VW with Wolfsburg. Carl Zeiss Jena? Energie Cottbus? And don't give me the 'Werkself' crap. If they were real company teams, they wouldn't be competing in professional leagues, feeding off the scraps of Bayern's complete and utter dominance of the 'perfect' Bundesliga model. Company teams are, by definition, there to provide sporting facilities for their employees, meaning they are amateur or semi-professional. Do Kießling or Völler work for Bayer? No, they don't. So, Bayer 04 is a vehicle to promote the company - a pro football team that buys and sells players like any other.

Wrong on all accounts, look at page 26, Bundesliga review (old thread, see below). Old hat that giving reasons.

There is a good argument for clubs like Leverkusen. It was the sports club of the company and so ever supported by the company.

Hi,

I totally disagree on that one: There's no good argument (or rather no excuse) for the existance of B**** Leverscum! True, it may have started as a sportsclub for the company's workers - but we're talking professional football now, so the 'club' as it is now is only there for one single purpose - for advertising purposes, to promote the name of the Company and it's chemical products. In fact, the 'club' is a fully owned subsidiary of the company's PR-department. Definitely does not qualify for a football club IMO.

The Bundesliga could do without the Leverscums, Ho$$enheims, Wolfsburgs, RB Leipzigs.

Koln, Dusseldorf, Hertha, Pauli, even Paderborn are by far more attractive than these plastic clubs... May the best team win.
