I don't understand the Dortmund players and why they have no faith in the club? Dortmund have a chance of establishing themselves as one of the top 5 clubs in the world. They have a recent champions league win, a good youth system, an excellent stadium, a great manager and a fantastic young team. Yet it seems in Germany itself they are not held so highly. Sahin, Kagawa, Goetze and now Lewandowski have/will all left. There are still rumours about Reus and Gundogan. The club are in a very stable position financially and could become a real force, because they are assured champions league football for the next few years, but the players don't seem to believe in the project.

As for Lewandoski, he was incredibly underrated up until the Madrid game where he scored 4 and now is vastly overrated. He is not on the same level as Zlatan. He even is not the level below as say Rooney (as an out and out striker). Would have been far better to sell him for 25 million even to Bayern and bring in Higuain. Lewandoski has been terrible this season and does not look bothered.

Also think Klopp made a mistake not bringing in a more creative player. The loss of Goetze was a big one and teams are going to come and park the bus against them. When this happens they lack the bit of guile to break those teams down. Ozil was the perfect and obvious signing. Aubmeyang looks good and could become the new central striker. Hoffmann looks very talented and will probably replace Kuba. They just need that extra world class player in the middle to really be a match for Bayern, Madrd and Barca. A players of De Bryune's level is not going to cut it they really need someone already world class. If Mata was available he would be the perfect option, even cup tied and in January. Usually it's better to go for the cheaper option, but Dortmund need a big name signing to give their players and their standing a boost.

I also don't understand this Dortmund situation. I dunno which is worse, the Suarez situation or the one with Lewandowski.

The Suarez situation is not even particularly bad. Ignoring what sort of man he is it is very understandable that he would want to leave for a club playing CL football. Lewandowski is being very short sighted and not seeing just how big Dortmund can be. Klopp has really improved their squad depth this year. If they get out of the group they have are probably might very slight, very very slight favourites.

I was wrong and Pep has had a great start, though as expected he clearly has turned Bayern into the new Barca of around 09 which is not a bad thing, though not the style of football I prefer. Said it before, but Lahm is the best right back I have ever seen, but he is such a brilliant footballer he has been great as a defensive midfielder. I think Kroos will benefit in the long term playing deeper. He has the range of passing and the vision to become a player of Scholes and Pirlo's level. These players usually mature a bit later and they don't really need legs. Though at the same time I guess this means Martinez only chance of getting in the team is at CB.

What's the new on Lewandoski? Seems to me like Guardiola might start playing Muller as the false 9. Muller has the ability to play there, but would need to learn the position. It's a gamble, but probably what Germany need.

When the group stages are over will be interesting to see which league does the best. I expect it will be the Premiership. I don't see any of our 4 teams not making it, where as Sociedad and Leverkusen probably won't. Early days, but I see the last 16 having 4 English teams, 3 Spanish, 3 German, 2 Portuguese, 2 Italian,1 French and 1 Ukrainian.

No mentioning of the 2nd round in the German Cup?

SV Darmstadt 98 - FC Schalke 04 1:3
VfL Osnabrück - 1.FC Union Berlin 0:1
SC Freiburg - VfB Stuttgart 2:1
FC Bayern München - Hannover 96 4:1
FSV Frankfurt - FC Ingolstadt 04 0:2
Eintracht Frankfurt - VfL Bochum 2:0
1.FC Kaiserslautern - Hertha BSC 3:1
1.FC Saarbrücken - SC Paderborn 07 2:1
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim - FC Energie Cottbus 3:0 past extra-time.
Hamburger SV - SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1:0
1.FSV Mainz 05 - 1.FC Köln 0:1
Arminia Bielefeld - Bayer 04 Leverkusen 0:2
SC Wiedenbrück 2000 - SV Sandhausen 1:3
SC Preußen Münster - FC Augsburg 0:3
VfL Wolfsburg - VfR Aalen 2:0
TSV 1860 München - Borussia Dortmund 0:2 past extra-time

Dortmund needed extra time and a penalty to score against 1860.

I see Koln coming back up, been very good so far so not surprised by that result.

The idea of Bayern with Lewandowski is not a comforting thought. It does suck that they can pillage the best talent even from their direct rivals though.

Because of course English clubs never do that (Torres, van Persie, Nasri etc etc etc) ;-)

Oh and taking a player who is out of contract (Lewandowski) is not technically "pillaging" .

That topic is kind of boring now. Happens in every country and that's it.

There are some good games tomorrow in the BuLi! Dortmund take on Gladbach, away from home. They are doing very well the last few games and Dortmund could lose points there in my opinion.

And later that day its Leverkusen - Bayern. Very tough game for us, they manage to beat us at home last year and this year they are doing extremely well. Won't be easy to get a win there.

The win for Leverkusen last October was a fluke. I remember that game and both goals were lucky deflections.

Bayern's pulling power in Germany is completely uncontested though. Not that other teams don't do it. Chelsea couldn't sign Aguero, nor could City sign Hazard. Spurs wouldn't even sell us Modric for 40m. Torres was signed when Liverpool fell into mid table for a few years and RVP was sick of winning nothing since 2005 (and ran down his contract). Arsenal weren't selling their best players when they were actually competing like Dortmund are.

It just seems a bit like killing the competition by taking their players which I think is a shame. But to be fair Lewandowski wants to join you just as badly as you want him. But I'm sure you'd be annoyed if the situation were reversed and Dortmund could buy say Ribery and Schweinsteiger to set you back a few years every time you get a good squad together.

We haven't taken many players from BVB over the years and one of the recent two is out of contract and leaving anyway next summer. Don't forget they got Hummels from us too ! I wouldn't say Dortmund have no pulling power, Bayern are currently being touted as the best team on the planet so it is unsurprising that we have little trouble attracting big names but BVB are strong and getting stronger.
In anycase it is not in Bayern's interests to ruin Dortmund, without any decent opposition in the BL we would lose focus.
