Dortmund just signed Ramos from Hertha, good signing.

Course if we'd done it we'd be "weakening the opposition" :-)

Not sure if the "good signing" part was sarcasm, but I don´t see how this is getting Dortmund anywhere.

Ramos had one good season in the Bundesliga and while he will most likely improve at Dortmund due to playing with better teammates I can´t see him have a huge impact.

He is imho a pretty limited player....

However you might want to think about possibilities that set your blog apart from other blogs? So basically the question would be: "why read this guys blog, if there are already a million similar blogs around?"

I am no expert on blogging myself, but that was the first question that came to my mind after reading through the blog.

No idea if you can speak/read German due to your interest in the Bundesliga, but if you can then digging through the club forums or other websites might give you an edge over the other bloggers who have no access to those resources.

Just an idea, not meant to demotivate you! Good luck :)

Not sure if the "good signing" part was sarcasm, but I don´t see how this is getting Dortmund anywhere.

Ramos had one good season in the Bundesliga and while he will most likely improve at Dortmund due to playing with better teammates I can´t see him have a huge impact.

He is imho a pretty limited player....

No, I think he is a decent signing given what they are paying for him.

You are going to think I am a right plank here but I never realized that in the Bundesliga you only play 34 games.

Not only do they play 4 games less than anyone in the Premier League they get 5 weeks off in the middle of the season, I find that incredibly unfair when it comes to having players fresh for the knockouts of the Champions League.

They don't have a League Cup either in Germany so even less games.

34 games plus 6 cup games, if you go to the final. Overall maximum 40 domestic games in one season. (Or 42 if a club has to play relegation play-offs).

Never understood, why there is a second cup played in England, tbh

We like having two cups? Tbf a lot of teams send out reserves and kids in it which serves a purpose.

It's a dying cup and it wouldn't surprise me if it got scrapped in the next ten years, I think killing it off would bring back some of the spark to the FA Cup again as that is arguably another dying trophy, for the top teams anyway.

The big one for me is Germany having the longest winter break at 5 weeks yet they have the least amount of domestic games to play out of the other top leagues in Europe.

I know England having no winter break didn't stop English sides a few years ago in the Champions League but it has to change to allow us to be more on a level playing field fitness wise. I think it's no coincidence that City looked absolutely knackered coming into the CL again in Ferbruary after having to play 18 matches during December and January.

It has to change, forget tradition.

What do you guys think will happen with Dieter Hecking? Were there some calls he should be sacked after the draw with Braunschweig? It looks like he's putting together a decent team together there, with players like Max Arnold, De Bruyne and Gustavo.

i think, there is no other club that has spent so much money in the last 10 years for such poor results. Except that title out of the blue under Felix Magath. But even then Volkswagen had no idea or philosophy of football other than spending much money. With Klaus Allofs as club manager and Dieter Hecking as coach, i think for the first time they have a duo that could really improve the club and built up a top team. So i don´t believe, they will change things just because of some setbacks. Not to forget, they have one of the best youth academies in germany.

The last few games should remind a lot of Dortmund fans where they would be without Reus this year. The answer is midtable and probably out of the Europa League. Dortmund are learning now that you cannot keep taking the cheap way out. You get what you pay for and if they don't invest heavily in the summer, both in replacing Gotze and Lewandowski and keeping Hummels, Reus and Gundogan then they will fall.
