I agree with bayern blade. Dortmund have done extremely well in the past to replace players like Sahin and Kagawa, and people didn't think they'd be able to do that back then. The money they are getting from the Gotze transfer is more than sufficient to help them get a decent replacement, so I doubt they'd be going anywhere.

i´m not that sure. We have it before with other clubs. Gladbach had to replace Dante and Reus and it did not work that well. Bremen never found a new Özil.

first time you find a replacement, second time.... but at some point the quality of the players lost can´t be found on the market. They already had some transfers in the last two years or talents that didn´t make it.

Yes but Gladbach didn't have anything near the strength in depth or the spending power of Dortmund. They have over 50 million from the CL, 37 million for Götze and if they cut their losses and sell Lewa, which they surely must if he won't sign a new contract that will add another 30 million or more. Not a bad kitty for summer signings at all.

Actually - I do not even think that the current best team of Dortmund would really be worse without Götze. Put Gündogan as CAM and Sahin back into midfield - with a defensive shield - and they do not loose much quality.

I think it might even be better like this. Götze was often singled out because his talent status and it sometimes is difficult to be a team if somebody gets the most merit for things. Gündogan might not offer the same "hipster"-status but I do not see the big quality difference. Maybe when it means show - but we are not in Fifa.

What Dortmund needs to do is strengthen their bench - and that is something they would do anyhow - the 37 million will help.

What about rumors about Draxler being their target to replace Gotze?

Can that happen - schalke player to move to Dortmund?

Of course, several big name players have done so, Lehmann, Möller, Metzelder, Freund, Schumacher, Anderbrugge, Libuda, Russmann, Wegmann, Abramczik, Bittcher etc all played for both clubs.

According to Kicker Bayern currently gets some stick from managers of other clubs after the Götze transfer, as they seem to completely skip talking to the owners of certain players and instead contact them directly (which is not allowed according to Bundesliga standards).
So the clubs don´t even know what happens to them and their players...

Seems like they signed Sebastian Rode from Eintracht Frankfurt now as well which is a shame...

Another promising cm with Martinez, Schwienstiger, Gustavo and Toni Kroos can play there too. I'm surprised they haven't looked to sign a Left winger they only really have Ribery

That is correct in this case, according to the press the clubs did not need to be in contact because of the release clause. In anycase that is exactly the way that Dortmund signed Reus, they didn't speak to Gladbach either.
