Bundesliga review

Watched the Freiburg Schalke game. Shocking own goal costing Freiburg when they had the momentum. I like Schalke but I've already been there so had hoped Freiburg (or an unlikely set of results so Frankfurt) could qualify instead.

Hoping to draw Leverkusen next season, but I'd go back anywhere in Germany, possibly for a few extra days to get a Bundesliga game in.

Ich liebe Deutschland

I see German fans are just as bad as the English for calling rival clubs stupid names.

2 out of 10 is not that bad, is it? And it's not because they are 'rival clubs' (but we already had this discussion on here a couple of months ago...)

Wouldn't mind us drawing either of Schalke or Leverkusen ( but i think we can't draw Schalke?) . Ich liebe Deutschland auch! Und wurst as well :D

I watch a lot of German football, but don't know much about what is going around with the teams in terms of money.

For me I think it is good that Schalke got into the CL. They have some quality players and could actually turn into a force. With the right investment they could be up there with Bayern and Dortmund. They have strong city support, a big stadium and good sponsorship from what I hear.

Also are Leverkusen finished? Is there any chance of them holding on to Bender of Schurrle?

Lastly what are the chances of Ozil and Khediera coming back? Madrid are likely to sack the team and rebuild in a different direction they always do. With Tottenham likely to miss out on fourth I would not be surprised if they go British and splash out on Bale and Rooney.

Schalke will not spend big time, more on good substitutes. The Bayer company always has a limit on spending (other than Volkswagen at Wolfsburg). If Chelsea wants Schürrle, i think, they let him go this time, surely not Bender.
Can´t see Özil and Khedira in germany, unless Bayern starts buying everyone

Why should they want Özil or Khedira? They did not want them in 2010. Khedira does not beat Gustavo or Martinez in midfield - and even if I like Özil - there is already Ribery, Müller, Götze, Robben, Kroos and Shaqiri...

----------

I guess Campino keeps his fingers crossed for Bayern next week...

what is he saying..

Heynckes is telling in that video, that he met the 1973 cup winning Borussia Mönchengladbach team the evening before. Was a fantastic evening with some players he hadn´t seen for 40 years. Then he talks about the warm welcome and farewell the Borussia fans gave him for his last match today and remembers some of the great matches he played with Gladbach.
Finally he can´t hold back the tears. " The welcome simply showed me, that this im my home here"

That is not so important. For him it was probably a real special match. His last Bundesliga match - and it was a match between Gladbach and Bayern. When you do not get sentimental in that moments - when should you...

Gladbach is his home team - he started with them as a player in 1963. He was the second best goal scorer of the 70s and did really great then - he just was in the shadow of a Gerd Müller. He started his manager career at Gladbach in 1978. Gave Lothar Matthäus his start in his first year as headcoach. In 88 he went to Bayern the first time - then he had several coaching jobs - some in Spain/Portugal and some in Germany.

--------------

Santana is going from Dortmund to Schalke. With 1 million EUR transfer sum because he had a clause in his contract...

What a bargain ;)

It's a shame Schalke won't spend big. They could really catch up quickly with a few key buys. Bayern will be adjusting to a new manager and Dortmund have to replace some star names.

Also I hear Hummels is a doubt for the final. This is a big blow since I don't rate Santa. Without Hummels and Gotze, I cannot see Dortmund winning.
