Remember the daft twat who tried robbing Big Dunc's gaff? Rumor has it that Big Dunc caught him, asked who the fuck he thought he was, calmly called the cops and then preceded to twat the shit out of him. If you are gonna rob a gaff........don`t rob big Dunc`s gaff!

i've always imagined him to have been delighted when he realised the was a burglar knowing he had a chance to leather someone legally.

The law allows you to defend yourself using 'reasonable force'. If someone comes at you with a lethal weapon, for example a knife, you are allowed to kill them.

So in a case like this all you have to do is tell the Police you genuinely thought the burglar was going to kill you and stick to that no matter what.

It helps, of course, if you are old, frail or a woman - a huge, fit bloke might be deemed capable of defending himself with less than lethal force.

His 'mates' who left him on the road and didn't take him straight to A&E should be of blame for his death ahead of the bloke who was defending himself. And obviously the lad himself is to blame mainly.

Spot on.

As far as I'm concerned, reasonable force when faced with multiple intruders waring balaclavas, is what ever it takes to prevent them from being able to harm your family. If this results in a death, so be it.

Hope the justice system sees sense and let's the poor guy go home soon to continue protecting his family. I'll not hold my breath though.

According to some on here you must sit down and discuss what the burglars intentions are before deciding on a course of reasonable force.

I initially thought you had misunderstood my posts, and subsequently went to great lengths to clarify them.
Most folk got the point.
I now appreciate that with you I was wasting my time,as you are simply stupid, and unable to grasp even the basic rudimentaries of why we have a legal system that allows trial by jury in order to ascertain guilt or innocence, rather than the retribution of an ill-informed mob.
It is not a mistake I shall be repeating.

What about if you said: " I was in my home, stabbing away at thin air, which I like to do when I'm in the privacy of my own home. When an intruder in my home jumped in the way of my knife and ruined my practice."

You would probably be detained for assessment under section two of the Mental Health Act,1983,during which time a Community Psychiatric Nurse would ascertain whether or not you were fit to stand trial.

Ha ha. Sounds a bit extreme. So if I wasn't fit to stand trial, I'd get away with murder eh?

Indefinitely detained in a mental health ward or a few years in prison?! Hmm... I'll have one dry bumming instead please, better dead than wear red.

I take your point, my issue is with your naive trust in our legal system to ascertain what is reasonable force.

Any force is reasonable when someone has broken into your house.
