Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

The main reason we move it is to ease the load on the server, to try and prevent the site crashing straight after games.

Ah well thanks for the answer, maybe best log off with 10 mins to go in future lol

I think Kompany changed the mentality. Pep should be clear cut with him. Its not easy to end a legend but if hes over then hes over. It was a mistake to loan Mangala.

Managed to get to pg 20 before I realised the forum is full of bell ends slating players who have had long term injuries, kids not quite up to speed, players we have to thank for being 16 points in front and our greatest ever goal scorer who's netted 24 this year so far.
Get the fanny wipes out you'd think we lost by 4.
Fuck me this place gets worse every week. We played very well apart from wasteful finishing. Onwards and upwards, how many games before we can win the title?
Some of you lot will find something to moan about in that as well I suppose.

It is very odd isn't it, always makes me wonder why they do it.

Post of the thread by a mile.

We need to make far more of the possession we have. We need to be a little more direct rather than 'chess like' with teams like this. I'd also like to see what a five or ten minute period of hoofball might develop. There are few teams who can successfully defend hoofball. Yer never know where the ball is gonna land, we are pretty good at reclaiming possession, and defenders have to get it right every time. We can afford to be like hyenas for that period. However, it may be anathema to Guardiola's philosophy, which is a pity. If the plan isn't working, change it and see what materialises.
There's nothing wrong with Guardiola's philosophy and there is nothing to change. We should have won this game well enough, but we didn't and for the same reasons as other games where we made hard work of getting a result. Our failure to put the ball in the net in sufficient numbers to make each game a cakewalk. Unfortunately, several of those players who were more than capable of sinking Burnley were 'clogged out' of today's squad and although I don't expect that to stop us winning the title, it has the potential of making our good work done so far to become much harder which has every chance of negatively impacting on our other competitions.

Burnley side rode their luck at times, notably with Sterling's terrible miss, but because they were a threat throughout, they got their reward.
City were wasteful - end of

I thought some of our football was majestic but as you said we were wasteful in the exreme

Oh please, Mangala has been mainly poor, getting called every week by the majority of fans (some of it unnecessary of course) but less than a week of him leaving the calls of what a mistake begin lol

If Everton had offered us 15m 99% of this site would have taken it in an instant.

You sound just like the guys who turned on Scholes and the family man at the death of their careers and let's be honest that was pretty poor and we also took the piss out of them for their disrespect.

This site is utter bollocks when we lose.... oh it was a draw and we are now 16 clear at the top lol

I think Pep made few mistakes :

1- Starting Sterling on the Left
2- Bernardo is not effective as winger & he should replace Silva
3- He shouldn't replace Sterling after that HUGE miss, it was better giving him more time to recover instead.

And in regards to players mistakes:

1-Sergio was too selfish not to pass to Sterling in numerous occasions, Gundogan as well
2-The goal we conceded was Walker's fault, he should be aware of the player close to him

Anyway, 13 points difference is not bad :), and hopefully we will do better next game.

I agree many will put a but at the end of everything positive about this season rendering the positive useless.

For me I would be thrilled to bits if we won the league on goal difference again.

I am hopeful it will be easier than that I you never take anything for granted.

Like today we deserved the three points on the balance of play but it doesn't always work out that way.

We have lost once in 26 games and if we keep that up all should be fine.

Not read the thread can imagine what the same Mard arses have said, all I want to say is what a save by Eddie at 1_0 we have a top keeper as for sterling he's been magnificent all season I hope he's not to hard on himself

Would have brought Laporte on with 10 minutes to go. 5 at the back.

Not Pep's style, but sometimes when it's 0-1, shutting up shop is the best option.

I'd have taken 0-1 at the end.
