Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

No. Definitely not. If we win next week, we're still only 4 points ahead. But if that scenario pans out, it will be a very good position to be in. If we beat Liverpool, we'll have seven games left, and we can then afford to lose one. And the away game at WHU will not be easy. But it's the second last game (I think), so (with a bit of luck), it may not matter.
Beat Liverpool, beat them again, then they draw back to back against United and Everton. Champagne back on ice...

...or something like that please.

He's trying hard, and it'll come. We've seen this before with new signings. God help Haaland if he comes and struggles for goals
it is not that he is not trying hard, it is that pep is playing him in the wrong position. he is never going to be a goal threat up front so why play him there at all. either put him in the middle or leave him in the bench. I don't understand the point in playing him out of position, maybe next year pep will put him in the correct position once he had a year of learning.

Overall a good performance and result, especially as a clear response to Liverpool.

But I can’t help but feel we would have scored five had we put out 11 players. Suppose it is helpful ahead of Atlético, and a return to UEFA officiating, for the team to practise playing against a rough and tumble, kick and hope setup a man down, though.
Eh? Ten men?

Not a great match.

Kev, Ake, sterling and Gundo played well.

Sterling on the right is a different player.

Foden and Grealish under par. Jack lacking rhythm with the forwards. Mahrez struggled with the same issue until he settled. Hoping for the same. We need both Phil and Jack chipping in with goals.

Gabby was lively when he came on. We need Haaland.

3pts and we go again. Fucking dip this and dip that all day. Mersey is quiet tonight.

Comfortable win . But Christ we look so blunt up top. Foden and Grealish poor I thought.
I think the excuses for Jack are wearing thin. He's had the benefit of the doubt for long enough, got to start really hurting the opposition. Phil wasted as a 9 yet Pep insists on playing him there.
